if our players are seeking him out, playing midfield, Shorty can be damaging with his long direct kicking, getting the ball over the opposition wall is advantageous.Strangely kicked much better through the guts compared to off half back. Being dual sided kick opened a new uncharted dynamic in the midfield. Definitely worth trying out again to see if he has what it takes.
Baker couldn’t get near it up forward. That experiment has been tried and failed.Yes and no. Bit late actually. I was calling for Stack in the backline and Short in the middle ages ago. If I were the MC now I'd put Stack back and Baker fwd. Dont think Stack can maintain the manic fwd pressure whereas Baker can. And Stacks delivery from the backline is better. The MC might agree eventually.
No mate, this plot twist is one that I didn’t see coming. It’s a Hardwick masterstroke.I don't think even you saw that coming, Scooper. He was awesome, albeit in midweek company. Definitely gets a run at it.
Reckon maybe it's because a lot of Shorty's kicking got fairly beige n predictable coming out of defence in recent times, probably also didn't help with his constant calling for the dish off ball n simply banging long off a step n under pressure.Never understood why many didn't value short, his kicking alone breaks lines.
Many many times and still enjoy it every time but for me who is not a big fan of Shorty recognise that he played very well in the 2020GF but yesterday, I thought it was a complete performance from him so give him high creditHe played well but didn’t you watch the 2020 grand final ?
Laser beams in the first quarter, TM. Lost focus as the game wore on. Could be a fatigue thing.Reckon maybe it's because a lot of Shorty's kicking got fairly beige n predictable coming out of defence in recent times, probably also didn't help with his constant calling for the dish off ball n simply banging long off a step n under pressure.
Last night, albeit against a bloody ordinary Wet Coke he was slicing n dicing near to perfection with his kicking. Short kicks and long, changing the angles at will n opening holes everywhere.
Up until that last goal from Dusty he was line ball for the Normie imo. Something like 800 metres gained in a match with 16 minute quarters. Doubt he will ever play a better game than he did that day. Many many times and still enjoy it every time but for me who is not a big fan of Shorty recognise that he played very well in the 2020GF but yesterday, I thought it was a complete performance from him so give him high credit
Shorty was looking like he had BOG all over him early in the game, then that flashy little arsepick Bolton just waltzed in n showed him how to play a real game. Not surprised Shorty lost a bit of focus, still had a bloody good game though.Laser beams in the first quarter, TM. Lost focus as the game wore on. Could be a fatigue thing.
Perhaps it is a knock on Hardwick that he hasn't played Short in the middle more often and/or earlier. No mate, this plot twist is one that I didn’t see coming. It’s a Hardwick masterstroke.
Short is carving out a fascinating CV. Great story.

Who doesn't. Midfield, what a rort.Who’d have thought he’d play better up the ground
More often than never?Perhaps it is a knock on Hardwick that he hasn't played Short in the middle more often and/or earlier.
It was the last one last week. And he got the clearance.I think I heard right Shorty said in 120 games prior to this one he had attended one centre bounce in total.

Couldn’t have been Hardwick. He must have called Leppa, Fly or Blake up for some ideas I guess. No mate, this plot twist is one that I didn’t see coming. It’s a Hardwick masterstroke.
