We must be the WORST at losing close games over the last few years

We hack and choke our guts out every time. We just don’t have the class and composure.

The safest and smartest with the ball for us in the last three minutes. Cotch. The gather and kick to Mansell was class.

Still terrifying it's him. Again, it feels like we don't have enough mids.

Prestia was invisible tonight, looked to be going at 70% and avoiding contact.

Martin now a forward, doing very well but we miss him around the ball.

Prestia’s lack of effort at times was extremely disappointing.

Must be carrying something, I've never seen him that disinterested.

And had zero zip, was going at warmup pace all night.

We are actually on a run of the worst record of losing games under a goal in AFL VFL history folks. And with 14 or 15 premiership players in the side. No leadership it's unbelievable really

Since the beginning of 2021 the results when the margin has been a goal or less:

Port. Loss. 2 points
GWS. Win. 4 points
West Coast. Loss. 4 points
Fremantle. Loss. 4 points
Hawthorn. Draw
Sydney. Loss. 6 points
Geelong. Loss. 3 points
Gold Coast. Loss. 2 points
Nth Melb. Loss. 4 points
Fremantle. Draw
Brisbane. Loss. 2 points
Carlton. Draw
Bulldogs. Loss. 5 points
Essendon. Loss. 1 point

That’s 1 win, 3 draws and 10 losses.

That’s sort of ratio is not bad luck, it’s either poor coaching, poor execution or both.

We lose because of lack of composure. We fail to the simple things well. 3 cases in the last quarter highlight it. Mansell out of bounds when a point meant we could no lose at worse tie. Riewoldt missed hand pass when running into goals. Cannot recall who he missed. Rioli running into 50 and miss bounces.
all compounded by a lack of work rate to keep the ball inside our F50 and to stop their run.
This game proves we are not top 8 material. Time to rebuild, try youth and see who can cut it. Draft for skills,

Poor coaching. Dimma will say that we will learn from this but we continue to make mistakes. We need to train for these scenarios

That was bad.

I mean, really bad.

Don't know how to process it.

Winning 3 flags doesn't feel like consolation right now

DImma just about let out that Jack isn't 100%, so these all lead to our pre-season f*ck ups.

How ironic that I have a memory come up on Facebook from this day in 2017 saying “Seriously think Richmond is cursed”. Yep, was after another close loss.

It’s completely understandable that Dad’s Army can’t run out games.
Too old and too slow.
Get some youth and speed in the team, start blooding for 2025+.

Expect nothing less when we have battlers (Mansell) playing as forwards
Needed to kick the clutch goal but failed miserably kicking it out on the full :bash

Martin not going to centre bounces is on Hardwick. He is a clearance beast.

3 words.

Fraudulent football team.

Certainly the case since 2020. Our record in close games is not a mirage.

Ryan, Gibcus Cumbo, Moju and Sonsie along with Seth are likely long termers for the Tigers.

It's not all doom and gloom but the club needs to make some decisions come trade draft.

For a team that has not won for 12 games straight by games decided by 6 points or less , on one hand you could think , geez if only & win them we are right in it up to our eye balls , but the feeling is it’s we we are at , just an ordinary team right now

that's down to coaching - sure, players screw up but being on the worst ever close game losing streak tells you coaches aren't understanding the issue and/or are not communicating the solution.
