VFL ROUND 3 - RICHMOND V FOOTSCARY

Biggy developing nicely
Sonsie is a jet. Exactly what we need now
Clarke looks a player
Brown also looks all class
RCD just doesnt have a feel for the game. Like he's playing footy because he's done it as a kid. No real urgency, intensity or desperation for the contest. Had high hopes for him but Sonsie and Clarke already past him for mine
Agree re MRJ. Continue with midfield development.
Martyn is a VFL player nothing more
Aarts struggling to have an impact in tje ressies
Cumberland bit of a nothing player really. That year where we raided the Brisbane academy was a massive failure and clogged the list
Bit meh on Samson Ryan. Still young though but dont see anything that really stands out in his play

For the ones in the know meaning us tiger supporters, we have some really impressive young kids coming through.

Only watched the last, loved Clarke, Sonsie, MoJu, Brown, Banks, Biggy, great snap Stack.

If RCD is playing to instruction, those instructions must be: "At every stoppage make sure every other player at the contest is closer to the ball than you are, including your man, who you should stand behind. Feel free to lean into him, but don't actually use your clear size and strength edge to any kind of advantage. If the ball comes to you, blindly handball or throw it on the boot. And above all, ensure that you are absolutely NEVER on the move."
Sam Banks very god
Big call.

I had one eye on the races but...

Our four new draftees playing today, all look classy.

MRJ has had another good game. Still a long way to go though.

Oouts doesn't even do much at VFL level.

Ryan looks so unco. Hasn't come on after showing promise last year. Soldo wasn't much better.

Martyn is being played as a half-back but won't get ahead of Brown, Banks, Mansell etc. Delist.

Biggie continues to develop well.

Stack has really lost his mojo. Nothing seems to work for him.

Lambert in a half looked well above the level. RCD is nowhere near that.

Who is Austin Johnson? Does he have the athletic profile to step up from a mid-season draft?

26/12/2001, 182cm, 78kg, midfielder/forward

Johnson, 20, found himself playing such impressive football for local club Cheltenham in 2021 that he was added to Frankston’s VFL development list mid-year. The athletic midfielder/forward will be hoping to add to the one game he played for the Dolphins last year at the VFL Tigers in 2022.
