Trent Cotchin (Merged)

Bad result.
Same leg, different spot.
Chronic? Thought the amount of work he put in during rehab was supposed to strengthen the entire hamstrings?
Does he come back in and it goes again?

Has to be question marks over Cotch now.
I know they're putting a sunny disposition on this but 3rd time unlucky in a single season & we are talking chronic.
Imagine it does go again early in a final?
Worrying times for the skipper & us.

The way Cotch was running at training today so early in his recovery I now think he will definitely be back before finals. Club may have finally given us an accurate diagnosis for a change?

Running?

This is a strange one. No ice applied on the night, no limp or soreness shown, a big grin on his face when sitting on the bench, running freely at next training session. If I didnt know better could be a ploy to just rest him up for the next 2 easier games and get him in cherry ripe when the serious stuff begins. I reckon he will be ready to do the job sooner than later!

The strain happened when he kicked around his body out of the centre while somewhat slung by Cox, with his early groin issues it could well be his hips causing his hammy twinges now

Yep jogged some laps at reasonable pace and then straight line running again at reasonable pace, was out there for a full hour session.

Burge just confirmed in his injury report that Cotch ran at 70% pace today with very little hamstring awareness and seemed quite pleased:)

The fact remains that when Cotchy finished his last rehab, the club told us that they were taking a very conservative approach and Cotchin himself, on return, said that the hamstring was stronger than ever.
They now tell us the new injury is related.
I’m worried. Very worried

I reckon they were just being extremely conservative last Friday which was made easier as we were in control.

Give him a few weeks off

Agree with this. I reckon there was nothing wrong with him. We were what, four goals up before quarter time? He could do with the extra rest, and I reckon he wanted to be able to dash off at a moment's notice if he had to. Of course he could always have gone on again if things went sour. But they didn't.
The hammy smokescreen is to avoid showing disrespect to the opposition.
