Training

Great report mate , Looks like Noah is in for a very hard preseason and is going to have to work his backside off for the next 4 months

Our midfield does not need to have 30 plus touch games.
We win with 20 plus.

Exactly. It's more about quality than quantity - something the footy media and Champion Data don't factor in enough. We also have a very handy forward line to get it into.

Has Balta finished his shuttles yet?

I'm confident he'll be fit and firing when the season starts. Personally, I have empathy for the huge appetite of a powerfully-built, 100kg, 20 year-old young man bursting with strength, energy, testosterone and working out 4/5 hours a day generally.

Boys did 3km time trial on Saturday but no results given, mustn't have been any PB's;), either that or we don't have to sell fluff pieces to the media and members to get us all board the Tiggy Train.

I reckon weve come to understand that PB's are for September. And pOK's december-june are fine.

My inside club intel tells me club very happy generally with how players have returned.
Dusty on a reduced meat based diet has lost 3kg and feeling fantastic

Are they forcing him to eat steak with chopsticks?

It just makes sense that Balta comes back out of shape.

There’s not a conventional bone in his body.

It somehow makes perfect sense.

For fear of repeating myself, I am most looking forward to seeing how RCD progresses next season, looks sharp early.
RCD was starting to look every bit an AFL player late in the vfl season Caesar. Struggled to get involved earlier because suddenly he was playing against fully grown men and his size didn’t mean as much.
It was his outside game that came on later in the year and we got to see the future then. Plenty to like about this kid and my suspicion is that he is the big improver in 2020.
RCD and CCJ are the two I am most excited about.

Not surprising RCD struggled early. The club saw his future and picked him as center in the seconds from the start. Even though he was not ready and kept playing him there. Even though there were other, more experienced, options to pick as center.

Thing of beauty this thing called player development.

Yep, as a junior there was a lot of footage of Riley bursting from stoppages, we got to see that in the VFL GF, those 2 goals, (beautifully fed to him by Marlion by the way), bursting clear and goaling from about 50 were WOW!! moments and an exciting glimpse into what he could become.
Was a massive confidence boost for the kid which he has obviously taken into pre-season. Spoke to his parents after that game and they were just so happy for him and said "that's the way we KNOW he can play"
Here's hoping!

On the development front, a little birdie told me that on the VFL front the Club wanted to go younger next year, (which was at odds with the birdie's opinion), with the likes of JB, Sillver, Towner, Menadue etc moved on the draftees and younger players will need to play a bigger role.
Interesting considering things had been working so well with that program.
