Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

So has Prestia got a 3 week hammy or not? Nothing reported on the website at all

Here is a quote from Dimma on injury, (contained within today's "Scary Dusty" AFL.com article)::

"Dion's had a bit of a stagnated period. He's probable at this stage for round one. He probably won't play any of our practice matches at this stage just to make sure he does get right," Hardwick said.

"He's got some tightness in the medial hamstring, which is not severe. We're not overly worried about it, we just have to manage that along the way."

Don't worry he is only a 3 time premiership player.
They would rather write about Degoey and the 54 duds at Stkilda.
He will miss round 1

I think the reason they do it is they are not really looking for a competitive hit-out, they want match simulation as opposed to practice.

Keeping the ones together means they can run their set-ups and rotations in a more realistic setting than around witches hats. Gives them a chance to work through the centre-square exits, kick-ins, stoppages etc under some fatigue and with some opposition, and getting the rotation mix right will have been a focus as well. If you split them up then they miss the chance to work as they will in round one.

They know they've got a more competitive hit out coming in the pre-season games to sharpen up a bit.
You'd be right TBR, personally still rather see a bit of a more genuinely balanced hit out for the youngsters to get the opportunity to show their wares without being buried under an avalanche of elite.

Thanks for the reports and pic's, great stuff.

Might be just me, but I'd much prefer it if they mixed the squads up a bit for the intra club games. Playing the hopefuls against the premiers is always going to be a lop sided game n makes it almost impossible for the young hopefuls to step up n show their capabilities when they are so far under the pump.
Would prefer it if both sides were reasonably balanced in experience n talent n make a genuine contest out of the game.
That'd be ideal, but they probably want to see who can stand up while they are having thier pants pulled down. Gives them a go against our best & if they can match them it puts them in the mix for a spot for the pre season game at least. If they have no impact they'll be in the VFL.

Not working friday, pitty it'll be closed to the public as Casey Fields isn't far from home.
Dont go.
Headlines hearld sun on Saturday
'Petrecca stuns tigers'
Christian Petrecca continued with his great form as Melbourne beat an undermanned Richmond team missing 17 Premiership players by 3 points.
Petrecca finished his day with 18 kicks 3 handballs and 1.3.
Richmond look like the off field issue's might've finally caught up with them. There was no signs of the Richmond of the last 4 years.
Hardwick might need to go to the drawing board.
Goodwin looked like he has Melbourne primed to finshed outside the 8.
Melbourne take on Sydney in Papa New Guinea next Friday night, while the tigers need to regroup and take on the 2021 premiership favourites The Lions on their home deck next Saturday.

@Jonesracing82 what details do you have on the proposed praccy vs Dee's at Casey on Friday?, is it 100% locked in?

Last time I looked Casey wasn't a gated ground? so a public space, if you give me a time of match I will risk denied access.

You're probably on the money about there being a match this week as we have changed up our training schedule.

Today was a recovery session only all done at walking pace so no training report rather than just a couple of updates:

DRioli : Who did his ankle in the Intra Club on Sat was NOT with the group but he did come out briefly noticeably limping but no crutches or moon boot.

DTLD : Was there.

RCD : Was there sporting a decent shiner.

As there was no contact or running the above doesn't represent an injury report but me be of interest.

I believe there will be no public access which is very disappointing..
Casey fields oval does have gates and a fence surrounding it , though should still be able to see from behind the fence at some parts..
Hopefully the grass bank doesnt block the view too much..
I have to go through that area later might stop off there and have a quick walk around to see what viewing is like behind the fence , i really need to get a life!

Thanks for heads up, I won't bother then:confused:

I got confused with Holme Park Beaconsfield, both it and Casey Fields both out in the sticks for a city slicker like me, go there very rarely and only if I really really have to :)
