Amazing win in Cox plate for Via Sistina, 8L easing down and breaking Winx's track record by almost 2 seconds. Got $6 with a boost bet and had third as well.
Good going for an occasional punter.

Does Ciaron Maher get any heat for his handling of POJ?

Big ask to go to Sydney last week then back to Melb for the Cox Plate.

I’m in no position to question his program for her, but gee he was asking a lot from her.

Was thinking that before the race Moops and why I avoided her.

It was a big concern wasn’t it.

I was wary of backing Via after her track work incident, but figured Waller wouldn’t run her if he wasn’t happy with how she got over it.

Using Sportsbet’s pay as a winner for 1st or 2nd made it an easier choice

I was in-between selecting Via or Jenni (for sentimental reasons as love her style) but opted for Via. But had to factor in how she threw JMac on Tues and bolted for at least a couple of extra laps. But, then thought, the trainer (best in the land) thought she was fine ... and maybe got her even fitter if possible.
So, not sure, but you expect the trainer to know best.

Kings of Leon !

Your boy the Wooter is a bit out of form at the moment Leoneski. The Zozo has been a struggle again for him.

Funny you should mention Wooter. Nearly posted about him after watching him in Rd. 1. So here it is. Playing with Ricky and Xander' pretty sure it was on the 12th - a long 502 yd par 4 that day.
So MWL finds the crest of the hill and runs well down over it to 400 yds! Out-driving his playing partners by 65-85 yds. Fowler, second closest, hits the green close enough to get his birdie. Lee's approach from 100 yds lands in the rough just right of the green bust just pops on about 35-40 yds away. Leaves putt well short for a bogey. Xander having a bad day wasn't much better but still got a par I think - earlier he made dumb decision to not take a drop and couldn't avoid a tree root, costing himself an 8. Ouch!)

Next hole he decides to tee off from a different spot to the other, more experienced duo and misses the green to a run-off right on a 138 yd par 3 (so did Fowler I think). Sure, played a great recovery flop shot to par. Overall, his short game and putting is fairly strong/consistent. End of his round, a commentator wondered what on earth he had gained by even using his driver on holes where it just found trouble instead of 3-wood.

But, stop the stupid 'Let him cook!' crap (which he has engraved on his balls) and never mind how long you can drive it ... learn to hit your *smile* wedges!!!:(

Yer, he's continuing to be very underwhelming. (Is he smart enough? Imagine how some of the golfers with great short games but not long off the tee at all would go with his driving power!?)

Listened to the Cox Plate on a bus/coach between Kanazawa and Kyoto. What a win by Via Sistina, I backed the Japanese horse🙁
We’re staying in Kyoto for a couple of days……the races are on here tomorrow, but the missus is feeling a bit crook, I hope she wakes up feeling better in the morning, what to do, a dilemma………….

Go to the Zozo Toigs and cheer on your WA boy Wooters. (He needs it).

If I was up that neck of the woods Redders I’d be at the races. There’s a group 1 on in Tokyo tomorrow, Liberty Island has drawn the car park but will still kick their brains in.

Big day for me at the Valley. Usually a punting graveyard but backed 4 winners in a row races 3-6 plus Via in Cox Plate.

Offset by horrendous day in Sydney where I couldn’t get warm. Still well in the black so no complaints. That’s punting.
