Thoroughbred racing

Tough day. Got the quinella in Melbourne race 3 and trifecta in race 4 which kept me in the game for a while. But had seconds and thirds everywhere. Buffalo River, Dosh and La Mexicana all ran down in shadows of the post. Backed Grace and Harmony, Lightsaber and Quantum Mechanic each way at juicy odds and all ran fourth.

But the shorty Delphi and an each way saver on Hasta La War in the last got me out of strife and back in the black. Phew.

Yeah, Triple Ace broke its leg on the turn which caused Vangelic and others to all crash into one another. How Collett (Triple Ace) and Clark (Vangelic) kept their horses upright was a credit to them.

There's no stopping our own Mr Brightside.

It must be pretty good horse, not even Craig Williams couldn't Willow it.

Apologies Craig, I know your a good Tigers man.

Just exhausting all options. Anyone a VRC member not intending to go to the Melb Cup that could get me a couple of tickets? It’s my elderly old man’s highlight of the year and our family tradition. I’d be happy to give you a bit extra for your time

Who we backing in the cup tomoz?

i was on nonconformist until the weather forecast. Probably go incentivise now shes in the black.

similar track condition uncertainty in sydney for the everest. I like classique legend on a soft but think peaheart strip will be tough to catch on heavy.

but i reckon caulfield will be heavy and randwick soft

Agree re Incentivise but price a major deterrent. Have backed Explosive Jack at $17 each way. Barrier 1 does have a terrible record though! Like Eduardo in the Everest. Wet track at Caulfield will make life difficult. A roughie for value at Caulfield, race 1 no 13 meets the favourite 2.5 kegs better for a 2 length defeat. One is $2.10 and the other $21!

Good luck to anyone having a crack.

Agree. Incentivise too short from barrier 18 on a potentially heavy track. (Plus, you have to factor in the weekly Nobet Pays short price favourite curse.)

Explosive Jack ew (backed it 6 weeks ago for the MC too) and an interest on Montefilia. Allen will have to steer Jack well to be a chance.

Eduardo again in the Everest at $7.50 is value. Nice trial last week too, being tightly held.

I backed Incentivise at $7 a few weeks ago, and Classique Legend at $7.50 in the Everest. Backed Nature Cat at $4.20 today. Masked Crusader the danger given likely hot speed.

I think Duais is a good each way bet in the Cup tomorrow.

Buffalo River gets his chance with the wet track.

I like Masked Crusader but he can’t give these horses lengths by missing the start. Plus Wayne Hawkes on Wednesday was not enthused by the prospect of a wet track. Maybe he was foxing for a price; he’s won 2 in soft going?? Home Affairs is good value each way.

As Leysy has said all spring. We are watching the rise of a great of the turf before our eyes.

Don't keep wasting your money backing against it (Chimpley and Toomuchmoneyford). Get on board. You will get near $3 to do it again tomorrow.

Leysy stands to win a kings ransom at average odds of $7 for the great one to deal out some more pain to the horses in it's wake.

BTW The Inferno to make up for it's unlucky defeat in the Moir and win the Everest at any odds. Keep Gytrash onside for a winning race.

Abscess on hoof. Wearing a plate that’s smaller than the others to help overcome it.

Missed the price on Incentivise, so Kapalua Sunset- Incentivise All Up win. Also going to take a couple on the quick backup, Delphi the win, Homesman each way.
