Selection - Caulfield Race 6 - #8 Damselfly $10 Win

Oi!!! I had her under close consideration for an e/w bet if the odds were ok. She has a good fresh record, doesn't mind the wet track and Ollie should be able to get a good position from the barrier. Gee I'm talking like an expert rather than the custodian of a sometimes lucky pin to stick in the form guide.

Good luck jimbler.

Don't worry.....I'm close to adopting this method as well after a shocking couple of months.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Too hard to choose when my "R" boys aren't riding.

I'll have $5 ew (says it's $8 in the paper, hope it doesn't shorten too much) Caulfield Race 5, Horse 2 Bertonic please Remote. Selected because the MOTH's nickname is Bertie. :hihi

I'm not sure of the different betitng things Remote so just do whatever we usually do please.

Good Luck everyone.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Back to some out-of-the-chair selections, just for yucks. Had a few solid placings so time for a change (if only I put up other bets on those days ........ sheesh how typical).

Sticking to Listed Races:

* Eagle Farm Race 7 Horse 10 Crossthestart
* Caulfield Race 6 Horse 2 Gran Sasso (will he go as well around the Caulfield bend as he has down the Flemington straight though)
* Rosehill Race 6 Horse 2 Strat's Flyer

PRE Punters Club Bets are on -

Damselfly $10 win on IAS Superprice

Bertronic $5 win on fixed price of $5.00 and $5 place on IAS Superprice.

On all the On-Line Bookies' boards both of these have shortened considerably and the totes are even shorter - there must be knowledgeable money for them.....RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Will be spending Saturday arvo in the Valley members'. I have no idea of recent form, so please feel free to steer me onto some likely conveyances. :blah

PRE Punters Club

We got a 3rd place last week thanks to Rosy - a return of $11.20. Jimbler's Damselfly got going when the race was all over.

So we need a challenger to Rosy

Champion in the red corner - Rosy
Challenger in the blue corner - Dyer'ere

Rosy - $21.70 remitted to admin today.........RT

PRE PUNTER OF THE YEAR 2009

The 2009 rules are -

1) Each Saturday we will have two (2) tipsters - one will be considered the champion the other the challenger.

2) Both the Champion and the Challenger will have $10 each to bet with and are allowed only 1 or 2 horses each Saturday to bet on eg. $10 Win on a horse or $10 Place on a horse or $5 win on 2 horses or $5 place on 2 horses or $5 x $5 on 1 horse;

3) Should your total collect be more than the total collect of your tipster opponent on the day you become the champion and you will be challenged the following Saturday by the next tipster on the list. Should both the Champion and the Challenger not gain a collect the next 2 tipsters on the list will become the champion and challenger for the following Saturday. (with the tipster who is the next in order becoming the champion and the challenger being the tipster next after him/her)

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punters in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on this thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your $10 bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2009.

The order of betting for 2009 is -

1. Blood17 - return 0
2. mk33 - return 0
3. Red Sea Tiger - return 0
4. jb03 - return $36.70
5. Tiger44 - Return $47.90 - Club House Leader
6. Scottyturnerscurse - return 0
7. the claw - return 0
8. Hartbalm - return 0
9. Leysy Days - return 0
10. jimbler - return 0
11. Rosy - return $26.77 - Champion
12. Dyer'ere - no bet - Challenger
13. Remote Tiger - return $22.40

Due to two tipsters betting each weekend (Champion and Challenger) we all should get more than two turns at tipping during the winter footy season and spring racing carnival.

IASbet.com provides for - a Superprice dividend guaranteed to be better than 2 of the three TABs and is generally better than all three or a fixed price or in some races Top Fluctuations. When you put your tips on PRE please advise which of the 3 betting types above you want (Superprice or Fixed Price or Top Fluctuation) Please note if betting for a place Superprice is the only option available. IT MAYBE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU BECOMING NEXT WEEKS CHAMPION.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Thanks for the payment and for the chance to tip again Remote. Gee I need a change of form. History shows I pick a gallant placing when fresh then a second run failure. :help

Good luck Dyer and everyone else having a bet.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Tried to get on earlier sorry Remote but had visitors all morning. No time to check the form guide so I'll take a stab at $5 ew MV R8 # 1 In The Shadows please. Will leave it up to you as to type of bet. Thank you.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

PRE Punters Club Bets are on -

Field Hunter and In The Shadows

$5 x $5 both of them. Go you good things.........RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

A couple more placings for the Punters Club with Dyer pipping me on the collection post. Well done. :clap

On another note it's really sad and concerning to hear of yet another jumps death today at the Valley. R.I.P. Geeorb. :'(

Perhaps my money slowed it down but when the clerk of the course's horse beats you on its merits at 70/1, you know it's not your day. :duh

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Sorry about the late notice but I have a small interest in a 2yo filly about to race in race 2 at Sale this morning (11.45am). Her name is Fabulist and she goes ok - probably worth a dollar or two each way!

Hopefully no one got the late notice, she ran fourth after not being able to go the early speed, caught wide and finished the race off nicely. The winner is very smart!. Will have to look for a fillies maiden for her - she beat the other fillies home easily but is not over big so strength is an issue whilst she is still growing and maturing. Sort of like some of our tiger players at the moment.

Not having been to a jumps meeting for a while, was staggered to see the hurdlers and 'chasers jump one fence at around the 600m, run the length of the straight, round the turn & reach approx. the 1500m start area before having to negotiate another obstacle. No jumps in front of the grandstand, obviously to guard against horses being killed in full view of patrons. Despite all the compromises that have been made, another horse died anyway. Difficult to justify the continuation of jumps racing for much longer given the bad publicity it's attracting to the industry.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

That's awful L2. Seems they accept that horses lives are at risk but out of sight out of mind. I'd rather they protect the horses than the patrons.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Craig Williams and Damien Oliver are tied on 71 points for the Jockey Premiership after the last race at Sandown.
