There was one instance yesterday where the ball was loose on the ground and few players around it and a Pies player just dived like he’d been shot except there was no one near him!

If they paid free kicks for htb when someone ducks, seeing it as prior opportunity, you’d see instances of it decrease dramatically.

To be fair he did run a long way but yes, umps rarely call the huge distances players run out from full back. Tom Stewart sometimes run to the 50m mark…..

That was called again in the same game against Pickett. Admittedly not on the kick out, but they often let it go, just never against us.

We did, and the fact that it’s still happening is an indictment on the umpires. Selwood has made an absolute art out of it. When we made an art out of manning the mark they changed the rule!

We got called for everything and more in the Adelaide game......I think the boys got spooked, which aided to the loss

I agree. When you simply don’t know what the rules are and the umpire is seemingly making stuff up on the fly that would make impact decision making significantly.
