Certainly a look to the future - two new wingers to go with Jack Ross.

Can Pickett and McIntosh play in the VFL?

Good to see JR8 and Skippa Chimp being managed for Round 1 against the Baggers next year :))

About time they dropped Kamdyn! Should've been dropped months ago. Pickett is in a similar boat although he played great footy on the wing earlier in the year and has been forced to play a crap role up forward. Both guys shouldn't have been walk-up selections all year.

Hopefully MJ can be given some solid midfield minutes and not rot in the fwd line.

Probably don't want to take too many big bodies out of the side at once. I reckon that's all that's saved him.

Odds on Pickett being the sub?

I'd play Pickett the sub for the next 25 or so games.

Go easy on KMac and Marlion. KMac has been like a boundary umpire this year. With the speed the opposition move the ball end to end he has been doing so much unrewarded running. The fact we canā€™t keep the ball in our forward line has him tracking back without time to setup as he did in past years.
Marlions from slump has coincided with his criminal charges and also playing a forward role he is unsuited to but does for the good of the team.
Dual premiership players deserve some respect

21 games to go after this round (& counting)
Incredible to think that there are people suggesting that Marlion should be selected for a further 21 games so that we 'might' select his children under father/son rules...

So lets speak the unspeakable:

a. how has Father/son gone for us so far? (I realise MRJ is not Father/Son but his bloodline is credible)
b. Pickett (.... and I've loved his onfield performance 2020-2022) is a one time convicted criminal and a second time charged criminal (innocent until proven guilty)

............ but .............

...........by any realistic real world measure his children have far bigger challenges than being able to play good footy!!!!

Marlion will be lucky to be selected in starting 22 in 2024 (based on current form) so lets stop pretending his children fall above and beyond the tree!!!

Not a very easy debut by any stretch.

Kochies will be out to smash the Tigers and rid some demons from 2019 and 2020.

Last time we debutted 2 kids over there against Port I think it was was Martyn and Mansell from memory in 2021 and just lost.

A total farce but what other reason was there for playing Pickett all season, he's been very poor all year? And I agree, our father/son selections have been a disaster. We've ended up with players who realistically wouldn't have otherwise been given AFL opportunity. Assuming Pickett can play next year, would the club seriously play him the whole season as a 32yo on this year's form? You'd hope not.

Don't think so.

Competition rules state that players must have featured in six VFL games during that particular season, and played no more than 12 AFL games, to be eligible to play in the VFL finals.
