The I ❤️ Collingwood thread.

If, as has been reported, he is due an average of $900,000 per season under his Collingwood contract over the next 5 years, how is he a winner?

cause between the pies and dogs he will get $900,000 per year - that won’t change because Treloar’s manager has said so. The dispute is between how much each club is willing to pay of his contract amount.

YOTT, if you read post 1966 and those that follow you will see that I am referring to Zips suggestion that he will wind getting considerably less than $900,000 per year.

Read somewhere that his contract at Collingwood had been regularly back ended, ie he allowed them to push more and more of his DUE payments back and this has resulted in him being owed $850,000 for past years. That means he has "earned" that money already.
If Collingwqood get away with that it's a rort.
Collingwood should be forced to pay him what he is owed for past years and only then re-negotiate the next years.
So the AFL should use the original contract and force Pies to pay accordingly.
You can't sign a contract, claim you haven't got the cash atm, promise to pay it later, void the contract and not repay what's owed.

Ah....1966, we all know that Collingwood had a heartbreaking loss in the Grand Final losing by a point to the Sainters :rotfl1
A little know fact is that Royce Hart as an 18 year old, won the 1966 reserves Grand Final for The Mighty Tiges when he kicked a goal from 60 metres out with 20 seconds to go...........yep, we beat the Pies by a point:rotfl2:rotfl1

From RFC website
The 1966 Richmond reserves went through the entire season undefeated, culminating in a five-point victory over Collingwood in the grand final, courtesy of a booming Royce Hart set-shot goal after the final siren.

that is pressure - not only kicking to win the GF but not to have first loss of season in the GF !

Cheers, I'm getting a little long in the tooth, the memory is not what it used to be.
Still the Pies lost by a point and 5 points.........fairly sad that.

I was at the '66 GF. Sitting with our regular group of Tiger supporters. Near the Richmond race.

We were right behind St Kilda all day, and when the siren went, it seemed bliss. Little did we know that real bliss was only 12 months away.

Always good to witness more Filth heartache.

Wearing #42. Kicked it from a set shot near to the wing on the outer side.

The first GF I attended.

You can if it's Eddeeee n the AFL.

This was on cards a long time ago.
That dud Grubby Allan, destroyed them with that hit and run mission of Wells and Mayne.
The signing of Treloar mid term.
The trade to get beams back 800k for 4 years and 2 first rounders.
The worse Trade in the history of the game.
Huge deals to keep Elliott, Foreskin and Langdon.
This is the final result.
