This time of year (Trade period) highlights clubs bad list management as they try and shed player payments. Betts, Jenkins, Cox as current examples and there’ll be others. Clubs over pay/over commit to players when they’ve had a good season then a year or 2 later regret it.

It's very entertaining. One of my Essendon mates is going off his head. He reckons they'll get SPP and pick 28 for Fantasia. Two picks under 10 for Daniher. They'll then throw Bennell a lifeline, grab Jenkins for next to nothing and trounce Paton off the Hawks. Looking into it the Don's list profile it's about to fall off a cliff. If I was Rutten I'd be mandating only resilient types and no one over 26.
If I was Rutten I’d be looking for a loophole in my contract and get on the phone to Dimma to beg for my old job back.

When they tried to shop Treloar to Gold Coast, they should have said "Their list is batter than ours"! On Treloar's form he would have believed them!

Adams, Elliot and Treloar have'nt likely re signed for unders you wouldnt think, and bringing back Beams has so far been a disaster with him not playing and taking up cap space that would be best used to keep De Goey, Moore, The Punter, Pendles and Grundy.
Both Grundy and De Goey chasing 7 year deals also which understandably the Pies wont want to agree to, as ruckman age faster and lose their dominance earlier than other positions (see Goldstein, Jacobs and Stef Martin), and De Goey hasn't exactly had a recent injury history that would have a club leaping to consign themselves to 7 years of probably a million a year to a bloke that might/might not end up with chronic soft tissue problems.
This stuff up might end up costing them a player from their top 5 or 6.
Maybe the Maggots shouldve let Elliot go, they cant keep everyone.
We had our leaders take pay cuts and then Tommy signed for unders what the Maggots were putting up for him.

And my favourite bit which I mentioned to my Tiger friend just before which you kindly reminded us all is...
- Our leaders took pay cuts to at least give us a chance to get Lynch (even though at the time Rance wasn’t keen on-ironically was the one who got injured early and Lynch without him we don’t play finals).
- Lynch for less than what he could have got at the Pies but the great one at the Pies had to blab that he had a meeting with Lynch which upset GC & obviously Lynch.
To be successful and have a sustained success and chance you only have to look at these two models before the players at the Tigers did.

Players taking pay cuts to stay together as team mates.

we’ve recovered from that unlikely if not unforeseen result would in 2018, with the first remedy being the Colliwobbles losing the 2018 GF and capitulating at the vinegar stroke once again this year when they should have mowed down GWS when the whizz kids were hitting the wall in this year’s PF.

However, once we dispensed with the Cats, it was irrelevant whether we played the Pies or the Giants.
Pies supporters acknowledge that, while being glad to have got to a PF when they landed unexpectedly in the final four, having lost that one to the Giants, the Giants supporters suffered the experience others would dread.
