The I ❤️ Collingwood thread.

Happy for Richmond to lead the charge in demanding answers and proof from the AFL after Collingwood ensured Ben Cousins couldn't be excluded from the cap. What goes around, comes around.

Why would a mental illness be treated differently to a physical injury? Easier to rort too.
Yes, hence the point about it opens up other possibilities and more generic examples after that.

Its still after 3 years still hard to comprehend that an uncordinated smart asss from America took away a flag from us.
He won't play again, Sampson was better this week.

Reported in the HS that the field for new coach is down to Voss, Mitchell and Choco Williams.
Hope they get Choco as it would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Disrupt Miragebourne's rise and he'd be another Micky Malthouse at Cartoon type coach for them (i.e. ageing)

They are going after Mitchell (Wright wants him at Collingwood)
Another doofus who will follow the steps of Teague, Shaw and Bolton.

Williams at the Pies would be worse than Malthouse at the Blues. Slightly better than Neeld though.

Has there ever been a worse coach than Two Desks ?

Of those three nominated here, surely Colonwood are after Mitchell. But this would destroy the Dawks succession plan. Very interesting situation there that Caro wrote an article about published in Saturday's Age. Kennett heavily involved, of course.

Interesting that another Age article reported seeing Bloos Prez, Sayers, meeting for a long evening dinner with Mark Korda at a restaurant in Kew. I doubt that it would be over non-AFL business for two FC presidents to dine together for about 3 hours of an evening. Unusual.

Could they be conspiring together to work out the strategy for how the former can wrangle Clarkson out, and the Pies lure Mitchell? Could be some fun and games to come.

What ever happened to running proper selection process to find a new coach?

Back in the day, we allowed anyone and everyone to apply for the coaching job. We held multiple rounds of interviews and testing before finally selecting Hardwick. The process was long and difficult but so is coaching and if the candidate couldn’t cut it through three interviews and some psych testing they certainly won’t cut it as a senior coach.

Now days, clubs either put together a short list of 3-4 candidates, one of whom is heavily favored and the whole “process” is biased towards. Or worse, they appoint the caretaker who managed to win 3 of their last 9 games but the players really like because “he’s no the other guy”.

Everyone say prayers daily,

to whoever or whatever serves as your deity,

that Brad Scott gets the collingwood job.

Please not Kingsley. I don't want any of our coaches moving to the Scum.

I hope they get Brad Scott so that Pies v Cats games become the Salt and Pepper Cup.
