Sydney Stack

The context of my post was that if Stack has got a bit ahead of him self, a week off want do him any harm.
In regard to no resemblance between Stack and Pickett. Pickett might be a good mover, but he is also very hard at the contest. I've watched a bit of Wafl footy, he is ferocious in his attack at the ball, as hard as i've seen.

Ok. Let him show us his hardness in the VFL before we start comparing him to Stack. So far I haven’t seen him put anyone on their asses.
As for Stack getting ahead of himself, I’m calling bullsh#t

Just a reminder he's an 18 year old rookie.

He's started like a house on fire but there's obviously going to be challenges & learnings.

Wasn't his best game but can forgive him for that.

Worry a little that (like Balta was) he's been shuffled around too much and not allowed to settle in a role.

Should have been rested for another week. A 2 week break on light duties would have been gold for Sydney. Not his fault but has run out of gas.

It was a pretty strange game.

probably only about 8 of them played well.

Stack is our best small defender, not counting Grimes. And our best small forward, not counting Jack. So it depends where you see more value from him. I like him forward, he's dangerous, wins contests, creates goals.

Let's bring in Pickett to play back. Grimes will be needed for Darling but will get the job on Charlie Cameron the next week.

Where was that super star Walsh? Was he playing! Im serious was he playing?

He started forward and i saw him go back in the last and did ok. Overall he had his worst game but has credits in the bank.
Maybe having his sisters there at the game could've wanted to do too much or the conditions affected him as i hadn't seen him before miss targets as he did, ie: to lynch and Prestia plus go to ground and got nabbed by Simpson.

He's a very good defender and very good forward too so I'm torn where he's best placed, in that regard i must say when he was playing back he would slice through the opposition and pinpoint passes upfield at will...

Agree, Astute. Good to have a player that can swing both forward and back and get the job done at either end of the ground.
Come September, I would prefer to see him play mainly in defence, with the occasional run through the forward 50 if required to add some spark.
Move Baker up forward or push Short up to the wing (or to the VFL, preferably)

Are you serious you couldn't see he was carrying a injury.
Open both eyes when you watch a game.
Stack cooked, your a ...

That's pretty funny. Zips telling me to open MY eyes. Simply, Stack wouldn't have been allowed to play if he was injured, why would he? Martin not allowed to play because his sore but Stack allowed to play even though he was injured. Whether he sustained another injury during the game is another question but I am confident that you are making things up if your claim is that he was injured but cleared to play anyway.
