Seems thier definition of "thriller" is a game that went to the final siren decided by 1 kick. As u say a lot of our Finals were close for a half or so before we ran all over the opposition.I've been watching the best of series on the On Demand thing on the AFL site.
Just watched the one about thrilling finals.
It seems we played no thrilling finals between 2010 and 2019, we feature not at all.
Bit strange I would have thought. Now, the 2019 GF was hardly thrilling after about mid way through the second quarter, but we had some pretty good come from behind wins - 2019 PF springs to mind, as does the 2017 GF although by the 3rd quarter we were a fair way in front. I know we ended up winning the 2017 QF and PF by large margins but those games were thrilling for long periods.
I don't know, thought we might get a bit of a look in, maybe we just win finals by too much although that 2019 PF deserved a go.

Exactly, 1989 GF comes to mind, it was a terrible game except for the last 1/2 of the last 1/4 & its regarded as a classicSeems thier definition of "thriller" is a game that went to the final siren decided by 1 kick. I was at that game and apart from the 1980, 2017, 2019, and 2020 GFs, I think it was the best GF I've seen. Not just the score line and the Cats comeback, but Gablett's 9, the Derm/Yates clash, Dipper with broken ribs and punctured lung, the Gary Ayers mullet. Was a awesome GF IMHO.Exactly, 1989 GF comes to mind, it was a terrible game except for the last 1/2 of the last 1/4 & its regarded as a classic

That game is remembered for being as good as it was for it's brutality. As u say it wasn't a close game at all until the final minutes.Exactly, 1989 GF comes to mind, it was a terrible game except for the last 1/2 of the last 1/4 & its regarded as a classic

Only one thing stopped Geelong. Their shitty defence.I was at that game and apart from the 1980, 2017, 2019, and 2020 GFs, I think it was the best GF I've seen. Im sorry little Richo i cant open the article's. The headlines wind me upIt's a pretty misleading headline, the article actually praises how he has handled it. It's a pretty nice profile.

That's because our flag was just so last year. This year it's all about how J.C. n not the other son of God is going to lead the moggies to the salvation of their next flag.We win the flag and don't even command the front page of the Hearld sun 2021 Season review book
They still have Gazza, Rohan that is...That's because our flag was just so last year. This year it's all about how J.C. n not the other son of God is going to lead the moggies to the salvation of their next flag.
That's a serious insult to the real Gazzas. They still have Gazza, Rohan that is...
Didn't Rohan's marriage woes lead to Hawkins punching the sh!t out of him and Geelong's grand final tilt being derailed? Maybe Robbo can give that one to Gerard to report on.They still have Gazza, Rohan that is...
That one like normal it was swept under the carpet.Didn't Rohan's marriage woes lead to Hawkins punching the sh!t out of him and Geelong's grand final tilt being derailed? Maybe Robbo can give that one to Gerard to report on.
