Still giving us nothing...'cept Cups and Medals

I noticed that Lingy and Darcy were starting to rave about us in the last quarter and after the game. They're starting to take notice.

When we play our way, no-one can beat us.

If they don't know that by now, they will by the end of the year.

Jimmy Bartel gave a massive wrap on AW this arvo. Said clearly best team. Dwayne then said at the moment and he thinks 8 teams could win it...

I heard the rubbish sprouting from Dermie’s mouth on SEN this morning!!
These journos constantly change their narrative to suit their bias.
If we dominate, the rest of the competition is weak. If another club finishes on top, then they are the greatest powerhouse ever.
FFS, we will never be respected by these idiots!
Best to just keep collecting silverware and rubbing their faces in it.

Just finished listening to a general analysis of last night's game and standing of the two sides, between the Vice President of the Richmond Haters Society, Connelly, and the secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary, Hudson. The general tone of the discussion was incredulous disbelief, firstly that they are still dead wrong about their love child Melbourne, and secondly, of course, that Richmond are where they are. We are nothing more than a side of bit players, blessed by a freakish run luck with injuries, and the game last night was ordinary. I can guarantee these visionaries 2 things... we won't be meeting Connelly"s Essendon in September, and as for Huddo's mob, snowflakes will open a holiday resort in hell before they don't have to play a final against us in our house. Got that boys?

Caddy, Vlastuin and Rioli say hello from the stands ... not to mention Graham from the sin-bin.
Four players who are well inside our best 22.

Here we go! Brereton with Connelly right now... "Richmond is the best team in the comp.... AND IT'S A WEAK COMP! THEY ARE FAR FROM A GREAT SIDE!" And that my friends is as much as they will ever give us, even if we win 2, 3 flags. That is now the established narrative. Get used to it.

Heard that too. Weak comp?
How do.you establish a weak comp.
Wbat were like in the late 80's
Hawthorns only true challenger in the 80's were Essendon and cartlon

Brenton comments were very vague and withiut any substances

Have to admit, we have been blessed in that regard. We had very few injuries in 2017 and very few, if any, to our absolute key players in the midfield and key positions. And certainly no long-term ones. Imagine for a moment, Cotch and Dusty or Rance and Reiwoldt going down at the same time for a lengthy period of time? Saying that, I remember when we used to get a lot of soft tissue injuries and we blamed our medical department and fitness coaching. Well now that we've had a good run maybe it's partly to do with the quality of our medical and conditioning departments and that's what helps to make a premiership team? I believe that to be the case, it's a common thread for all the great premiership teams.

'10 things we learnt from round 5' (site that cant be named)

No.1 - Dees have a scoring problem :rofl :'( ;D :hihi

they might be able to leave that at No.1 and just cut and paste whoever we play in each week?

Maybe it is a weaker comp, who cares? God knows Hawthorn was the worst triple-premiership side I've ever seen. Brisbane of '01-'03 would have smashed them by 10 goals.

Yep.

I tend to agree the comp is a little average. Or maybe we r just an all time great side starting out?

Yeah that Brisbane side was the last truly great side

Envy is the feeling you have when you wish you could have the same thing or quality that someone else has.

And these football commentators are just that commentators.

They aren't journos.

Personally not fussed one iota what these fools think or say.

We just need to keep on playing our game our way.

egobourne fans in the crowd really irate that they could not match it with us.

Particularly in the first half, the old "how did they win the flag" comment got a good run.

I had to point out that we were simply the best team last year.
Got told that we only won the cup because of a dream run with injuries

"first the dogs, and then Richmond..."

I couldn't resist..."maybe Melbourne will have a chance one day"...

They were filthy because they just cannot get their heads around how strong we are.
I had one idiot behind me say '*smile* premiership side' to which I replied I would rather be a *smile* premiership side than one who hasn't got near it for 54 years. Got a few laughs from surrounding Tiger supporters.

talking to a couple of snooty Swans supporters recently (who only became aware of Aussie Rules when Sydney got SMFC ) and they called us "lucky" and that we only had "one star in the team". says it all about the underestimation of RFC. all i could say was "maybe you ought to watch a Richmond game and get educated".

Gee no mirrors in their house - Franklin??

Yes, I agree that the footy world is still guarded. 37 years will do that. But I reckon that’s only natural. There’s no coordinated vendetta.

Greatness often only materialises in the rear view mirror. There’s definitely a lag and all the players can do is continue to excel, letting the rest please themselves.

Not even Dermie’s comments will survive. All that remains down the track is ‘Richmond’ in that premiership table for 2017.

That’s greatness.
