Sports Quiz

Ok, keeping on the cricketing theme, which aussie batsman scored 205 in a first innings for Australia out of a total of 520 but alas we still lost the match and in what year?. Clue - it was against South Africa in Australia.
 
Sorry Bigwow - another tip. It was in the early 50's and was at the SCG - the bastsman was a left hander.
 
Sorry Bigwow - another tip for you. He played from 1948 - 1963 was a great left handed batsman and from what ive heard from the old man a handy off spiner. Played 79 Test Matches for Australia and scored 6,149 runs at a average of 48.41. He also captained the aussies in the 1961 Ashes series over in England. Now somebody should be able to surely get the answer now ;)
 
A quick one I think, with Jane Saville winning gold today.
Who was the last Olympic Athlete to carry the flag and win a Gold medal at Same Olympics
 
None of the above, sorry need to clarify at the Opening Ceremony carried the flag and then went on to win Gold at the Same Olympics
