Make sure the size meets your usage and get rid of your hot water system if electric. Replace with a gas boosted solar.
Energy will become like the oil industry.
Only those who have the 8c a litre discount dockets pay the real price of petrol anymore. Everyone else is price gouged. With everyone installing solar panels, do you all seriously think for one minute that the power companies are going to let this get in the way of ever increasing profits? Sadly no! You'll be paying the same or probably more for power in the future whilst those who can't afford solar panels now will be crucified.
Same thing happened with water. We were told to save water because of drought, so they just increased the price of water to compensate. The people I told at the beginning thought I was just being a cynical, but I was right.
The more people install solar panels, the higher the price of on-grid power. And soon they'll be able to do what the water companies do and be able to charge to homeowner just for having a power line run outside your house, even if you're not connected.
Total BS this country.

A system tailored correctly should pay itself in 4 to 6 years.
Better than bank insterest.
