Mostly agree. However, politically, I feel even the Age has lurched more off centre to the right since the merge with CH.9. For example, throwing a lot of crap at the Andrews government but no equal spotlight on the Federal Government or NSW counterparts in the state of serious corruption, where the media is heavily influenced by a crew of Murdoch media puppets. Age is only a little more objective at times.
But as far as sports coverage - far more discerning and thoughtful analysis.

Andrews has done an amazing job to restore Victoria to being Covid safe after the early quarantine breaches, saving many lives most likely and possibly yours and mine. Just some reminders: the nursing homes where most Covid fatalities occurred are a Federal responsibility (although no accountability from the Murdoch-pawn, PM Morrison) ; Victoria copped 70% of returness from OS after NSW disaster ensuing The Ruby Princess. What? Did you think nothing could go wrong with the onset of another once in a 100 year, complete mystery virus from hell? How do the deaths in Vic/Aust compare with those in your beloved R/W conservative countries such as USA, UK, Brazil et al?

You gotta remember TM famously chastised the Vic Gov Emergency Services for recommending people evacuate during the last bushfires - nanny state he said. The next day was one of the worst bushfire days in Victorian history and we had thousands of Gipplsand people sheltering on a beach for over 24 hours to avoid being incinerated.

As I was reading it - I envisaged what I might say as a fiercely proud Victorian (but now NSW'man) having finally crossed the border (to visit my home) two weeks ago when it finally opened.
I also have worked in the field of COVID 'bureaucracy' for the last 6 months so lets just agree that I'm an informed observer.
My visit to Victoria was deeply distressing
Not just the lunacy that surrounds the mask wearing mandate - but - the very ideology that you regurgitate in your post.
