The Pies tried to get pick 1 last year and Gold Coast asked for Treloar or DeGoey straight up.
They knew what they were getting. Suns are on the right path, not that far away from being really competitive.

I Don’t think the blues are too far from getting up the ladder.Having watched both those games today he should be glad he didn't end up at Carlton. Regardless of them nearly getting over the line, I'm making the Treloar call..... Gold Coast have a better list!
Wouldn’t be hard Tim. That’s a very underwhelming list. Whitfield and Walsh clearly the best but I’d be staggered if Rowell isn’t clearly ahead of those two in a few years.Rowell May end up being the pick of the last 10 no. 1s.
2010: D Swallow
2011: J Patton
2012: T Boyd
2013: L Whitfield
2014: P McCartin
2015: J Weitering
2016: A McGrath
2017: C Rayner
2018: S Walsh
Yeah, underwhelming was my exact thought when I put the list together.Wouldn’t be hard Tim. That’s a very underwhelming list. Whitfield and Walsh clearly the best but I’d be staggered if Rowell isn’t clearly ahead of those two in a few years.

I reckon Rowell will give Gold Coast 7-8 years of service before heading south. That is unless they are competing for flags by that time (which is plausible if they keep that list together)
I think he is of the character that he will be there for the long haul and want to be part of building success for the club. Be surprised if he leaves at any stage.
