arms out, no dissent free.
Probably happens about 20 times most games ... but the umps pick and choose when they are heartily insulted.
This is AFL 2022/23. Mostly arbitrary decision-making.

Yep for many of the rules they choose how and when they are applied.

My favourite is the different length of time that’s given for HTB from week to week, and different allowances for prior opportunity.

And dropping the ball as soon as your tackled to avoid being caught is sometimes judged as an incorrect disposal and sometimes you hear the umpire actually state ‘it was knocked out in the tackle’, as a reason got it to be play on.

Higgins and Butler 4 goals each....................................
Yer, when you look at it, we've been careless with all the SFs we've had go through our hands. These two won the game for the Aints tonight. Always a keen fan of Butler - but lost a bit of form and did we become indifferent to him because we were successful and thought we were loaded up?

Higgins I still resent but has our 'nice guy' policy of letting anyone walk out just because their ego wasn't satisfied? Has it been to our benefit with these two? He can certainly find the goals, and marks well for his height. Often kicks deadly too.

Then there was Stengle way back too. Sure he had issues, but did we show a lot more tolerance for Stack's far more costly (IMO) indiscretions for little return in the end?
Then Castagna. I admit his crazy kicking nearly drove me nuts at times. But he suddenly loses his love of the game. Sure, maybe after 3 flags. Now I admit, we could use his pace and pressure back. Did the club fail to support him enough through his kicking demons. Probably not. But he's gone too.

Now we only have MRJ as a true SF. I think he's progressing well - after all, it took Stengle 2 false starts and about 4 years to make it.
However, I wonder if we were a little complacent because we just assumed he was going to be the 'answer' - just because of his bloodlines?

Anyway, he's no aerial presence and not a penetrating kick, still building a tank too. Cumbo is more a burst, bustling type; not so much a chase and tackler. Clarke is skilled but will he be tough enough to play this role? Also not a chase and tackle type?

Anyway, from a surfeit of riches, we are rather depleted now, or awaiting another 1/2 years of development from MRJ/Clarke. Poor policy or just bad luck?

Why dont the Tigers get to play the Aints and Essington without any Key Forwards?
It's remarkable how unfavorable our draws turn out. Numerous instances. One that stands out was with Norf last year. We didn't get to play them early like many other clubs for huge, % boosting beltings. Nah. Only after the mid-year turnaround when new coach (I think?) and attacking game-plan introduced. Once they had virtually assured themselves of getting their high draft picks too, of course.

So they came out and beat us. Sure, our woeful effort too, but a different side to first half of the year. I bet either King, Membrey or both will be back for the Aints when we get to play them. Probably Wright for the Bongers same.
Fate seems aligned against us these days ... and the AFL.

The saints lads have been average for the last 12 months. Can’t hold onto them all. We’d be the most frustrating gaggle of a midget team you’d ever care to see.

I’m waiting for the Refuter to give it the all clear
“It was technically correct”

That may actually be true, he did spread his arms out in frustration. However the decision showed no common sense and no feel for the game whatsoever.

If we paid every free kick that is technically correct we would have 150-200 free kicks a game.

I'm good friends with Dan's parents still can't believe we gave him away for a bag of chips. Was young, quick, can tackle, snag a couple and a premiership tiger. Unbelievable

It's funny that the flog paid Carlton a free kick in goal square but 2 minutes earlier Carlton's chucker, *Cripps does a 'Melbourne storm' double hand throw out from a contest but none of the 4 morons see it. It's bullshitt.
If there's 1 thing that I hate it's throwing the ball.
McRae at Footscary
Adams at Collingwood non stop on Friday night.

The premierships covered over the cracks.
Bulter Castagna & Rioli transform this club 5 yrs later 2 are gone and the other plays on the opposite side of the ground.
It's not just the clubs fault its the AFL why are you forced to make changes to your list.
If you think your list good enough why change it.
We didn't let 34 yr olds walk. Bulter was a kid, so was Stengle so was Higgins.
Castagna didn't walk they made him walk. The conversations he had with them over the summer forced him to walk too.
Its sooo sad because it's these kids that won us a flag.
Like you said we stood by Stack & Coleman Jones but we bent over quality kids like Bulter. Yes he lost form but who dosent, Bulter will go down in my books alongside Rioli from Hawthorn as the 1st true pressure tackling small forwards.
Why do smalls get 2 yrs to preform while talls are allowed 5 or 6 yrs.
You can see in the 1st or 2nd yr if a tall will become anything.
Team selection and team management are still a huge issue with this club, especially now Hardwick is scrambling for success.
How is Mansel on the list?

Imagine if Lynch got looked after like the beanstalk gets looked after from Carlton.
He has dropped the ball 3 times this year for all play on calls.
The one against us, when they ended up snapping a goal, last week against Geelong he went to kick but tottaly missed the ball while been held and then yesterday. What a fken joke.
Lynch wouldve been pinged on all 3 and throw in a 50 to ice the cake.
4 umpires give me a break.
From 3 blind mice to now 4 blind mice.
