Round 2 - changes to the team. Richmond v GWS

We are in that limbo stage. Depth players getting a game and kids not ready. Horrible times.
It’s the price a club pays for winning 3 flags in 4 years. Just hoping the cliff we are about to ho over isn’t as steep as the one the Lions fell off.
I don’t want to see any short cuts over the next 3 drafts. Take as many top 20 kids as possible and hit FA for specific needs.

Hopefully not a 37 year cliff.

Hopefully not a 37 year cliff.
The big cause of the 37 years was the trading madness by GR post the 1982 GF. Took until Brendan Gale taking over as CEO to erase that. The other issue was the lack of list strategy or recruiting resources. These are no longer issues so reckon 3-4 years we will have the bones of our next competitive list

The more I hear Dimma say 'our boys are a proud bunch' the more I wince. Just heard his presser.
We know that, they know that, most ppl know that. 3 flags in 4 years tells you that without the words.

Not having a go at Dimma but have heard him say that phrase ad nauseum every week from last year's thrashing by Sydney in Round 3 and all 2021.

He needs some fresh content, Balmy-type content like previous years. The place is stale.
Benny needs to get a rocket and some freshness in the place asap. Even the language week in week out is stale.

I'm reading a lot about how some of us are darksiders and all doom and gloom. I dont think its doom and gloom, just reality we havent got a chance this year and in the next few. That's ok, nothing to slit our wrists about - 3 in 4 years is massive, I'll bask in this for the next decade.

Injuries dont help but other teams are just getting better.

And the combo of some 5 out of 10 drafting these last 4 years, aging warriors and superstars, injuries and internal hubris from the coaching team mean we are just middle of the pack. That's all.

There’s a sliver of hope. Carlton look pretty good atm and we looked a bit arrogant against them.

I expect us to throw everything at the Giants on Sunday.

Didn’t expect such a brutal alley fight so early but at least club and supporters alike will know how far off we are come Sunday night.

Apart from just this week, it’s a little concerning where RCD, Stack and Miller are at.

That being said, still hoping for a win on Sunday.

RCD apparently getting over bruised ribs, Stack likely not fit enough and paying penance . . . but Miller. Mystery to me, I reckon we give him a go and see what he can do. So far this year the footy has been fast, and we ain't fast, so maybe a bit of height might help? Who knows, but we need to sort out something a little different to succeed with the current list.

As uninspiring a side on paper since about 2014.

Was a scotch & Sinatra night, it’s over.

We go again.

I expect to lose but we need to put some kids in - so this is a great opportunity to see where they are at.

Very pleased to see Aarts out - seriously I have no idea what Dimma was thinking with him in the team.

It's also great to see Dow in, I'm hopeful that with an injury free run he will establish himself.

It looks like Dimma is rectifying his other head shaking move - and putting Ross back onto the ball. If Ross doesn't make it as an extractor, that's OK, then we move on.

Another factor to remember is that opposition teams have one or two extra "players" on their side.
Those umpires are a determining factor each time we play.
The stats prove that.
Not only do we suffer at their hands or whistle, but the other team are allowed to do anything they like without redress.
That is why we will struggle to win tomorrow night
Then again, maybe the fotty gods will smile upon us, who knows.

Put a line through Stack.
How long has he been in the system?
Still can’t get his fitness level up. Lazy.

Parker getting games is a worry for me Aarts untouchable wrong message for me.
And Parker at FF! Haven't they seen his inaccurate kicking? Oh that's right we don't worry about that because we also keep on selecting Castagna.

Is Parker's kicking for goal bad?

Quite a different thing to field kicking.

Parker’s kicking full stop is a liability. I don’t know why he was kept on the list. It’s a bit like hoping the lightning bolt that was Pickett will strike twice.
