Round 19: The electricity bill games.

Isn’t it interesting how they talk about a side that has done SFA.
havent won nothing of note.
the commentators are sycophants in the highest sense.

Wishful thinking Streak. They've got everyone covered. The only team that could possibly beat them is Melbourne if they get back their 2021 form. But that has rarely been seen this year.
What a blessing if Grundy really comes back strong in attack and is the main reason they beat the Bots in the GF.

All this with 90 secs to go:
Massive interference in the f50 mark attempt Sidebottom on Farrel
Adams tackled completely missed his foot with a kick play on

Drew killed N Daicos tonight. Played him tight and this is what you get a below-average game. 25 disposals lol, skirts around packs getting the handball receive and kicking out after a behind padding up his stats. Went at 60% with 6 turnovers.

Agree. I hope he does a 1995 Wayne Campbell in the Brownlow votes.

Wonderful game. Elite contest. Billy Elliot is so good. I’ve under estimated him for years.

Port did a good job for the first 3 qtrs; their pressure was good and having someone mind Daicos is a no brainer for me.

And Collingwood were always going to have a go in the last Qtr (which they did), but I still can’t compute how they’re able to seemingly outrun their opposition and stay so committed to the contest at such a level for 4 qtrs.

TBR has stated that there’s not much difference between most AFL players fitness wise, so what we are witnessing is mostly hunger?

And is the Pies list better than I thought ? (I’m not all that familiar with many of their players apart from the big names…)

This is why we need someone like Cumberland in, who plays on instinct, has that x-factor about him and can snag a goal from anywhere.

They went to another gear in the last quarter. It’s like they were all reprogrammed at 3 qtr time. They really are robots.
Maybe but PA's wastefulness in front of goal missing several very gettable goals kept them in range to launch that Q4 effort again. Should have buried them but the Skunks disposal and goal-kicking with players like Elliot and the Daicos boys was a class above.

Yep. Ball movement, flog decisions, endurance, everything.
Talking of the flog decisions, how about the one where Moore was allowed to run 40m for a kick-in. You can't make this stuff up. Is there a different set of rules for Colonwood?
I have seen our players pinged for running half that far.

Yep. How!!

Poor Port.
Rested players the week before for this game against the pies. Still lost and it cost them last weeks game too.
Who’s taking the blame for this *smile* up?

Doubts will start to creep in the hierarchy at Port regarding Hinkley.

Massive game against the Crows next week.

Collingwood are really bloody good, they play a game style which suits their players and sure can run out games. Would be interesting to really watch whether they are somehow trying to save effort earlier in games so they can come home strong, because they sure as hell run out games.

What I don't get is the way they constantly, and I really do mean constantly, appeal for free kicks. It is pretty unedifying, FFS, they are playing so well, what is the need for that?

In another thread it was said that Riewoldt doesn't get frees, even bleedingly obvious frees, because he pleads too much for them . . . doesn't seem to be a problem for Collingwood players.

The Pies win another close H&A game. Sad to think about the finals that didn't go there way last year when it mattered.

As an aside, how is Howe allowed to wear a long sleeve that is the same colour as his opponents?

Such a tough gig for list managers , 2 players who I think are arguably the best in the business in their roles both had major injuries and both were gettable because of those , Elliot and Scicily are guns and back at their brilliant best , however imagine giving up your 1st pick for them to have broken down again, yet both would have been bargains
