Funny how the moment Essendon's draw turns to playing top-eight sides, they start getting done - least surprising development ever.

The pocket-pissing media will laud them as 'brave' in a narrow loss, but the reality is, you don't get four points for honourable losses and build it up any way you like, but it's still a loss.

Bottling their opportunity at finishing in the eight by the look of it.

Their run home is Adelaide, Geelong, Footscray, Sydney, West Coast, North, Giants and Collingwood - could only mark down two of those (West Coast and North) as certain wins for mine.

Turns out AFL footy can still give me joy.

They are strange... a cut above every other team, but how many of their players would you genuinely try to poach from them? Moore, Daicos and De Goey, that's it. Others are too old, and they have a lot of those role players who would be no good in another team. Then there are the genuine spud types, Hoskin-Elliot, Markov, Frampton and Cox.
RFC circa 2017 - 2020. Maybe a touch more control n polish.
