Round 13 - the stuck in traffic games.

Stevic has gone back to his pre 2017 GF standards the last few weeks. Made some howlers.
Actually I'd been thinking that myself last few games of seen him in..... dropped off a cliff...
I suppose if Dan Richardson and Brad Scott are your bosses, ya bound to fall to pieces eventually!

Rules say 'if not under immediate physical pressure' in which McStay was.

That downloadable rule book on the website is missing 'or' after the first two lines.

It should be you are outside 9, or under pressure, or have had time and space or are in the ruck and knock it over. Not written well at all.

McStay should sue. I'm reliably informed he read the downloadable version.

Has anyone else noticed this.
The Saints have kicked 5 goals and every one, bar none, have been from free kicks.
The rest of their scores have been only points.
Nearly all their goals in their game against us in the first quarter came from free kicks directly or indirectly.

Kept them in the game.

Because I've sat in a room probably 6 or 7 times and heard the umpires go through their rules DVD each preseason and at length about this one when it first came in.

You can't rush a behind from outside the 9 under any circumstances, which is why you never see a defender just kick the ball through from 15 metres out under pressure for example.

You can rush it through from inside 9 if you are under pressure and haven't had prior time and space to dispose of the ball.

You seem to be everywhere TBR. If so, it shows how incompetent this league is by uploading incorrect info onto a public website. Stupid decision to give a free. Wasn't it fairer to ball up on the goal square?

Further example of why we need to get rid of the touched ball rule. Total, 100% guessing from that video. Defy anyone to prove that was touched from that blurred footage.

Just powder the ball and call in fingerprint experts to adjudicate...

It was definitely a free kick in terms of knocking it through from outside the 9. That rule is very badly written though, maybe because it hardly ever comes up no-one notices.

A billion dollar Industry and you have people watching blurry footage and guessing whether the ball scraped someone’s finger; I find it genuinely amusing.
