Round 12: the haemorrhoid flare up games.

Geez a few blokes need some therapy. Just take some comfort in Tom Scully and Jack Trengrove.

Well we didn’t need the fourth TF but hey the outcry of frees being missed brought it to a head.

Won’t be long before there will be one stationed at every 20 metres and they will still miss frees.
Just aa bad are the frees given... by the umpire 100m away.
"Too high"
While the umpire in charge let it go because the player ducked.
Play on is the right call but the dingbat from the back reckons he knows better

Van Rooyen, getting better every week. Only 20. Can’t imagine what he is at 24.
How good was he tonight. Stepped up.
You could see he believed.
After 5 games.
Will be a beauty

The Dee's first pick in last years draft, Jefferson 195 cm's, the year before Van Rooyen 193 cm's, 2 years before that Luke Jackson, anyone notice the theme.
Theyve also nailed 2nd round picks.
Rivers. Swallow

more Dusty moments.

Geez the commentators are earning their dough trying to inject excitement into this.
More Dusty moments.
And then the AFL adjudicates the dont argue as prior opportunity, so actual Dusty has higher risk of HTB.

Theyve eased it off and given more time this year.
Coincidentally after our Dustynasty

I broadly agree that retrospective draft hand wringing is a fools paradise,

but given the age profile of our KPF's, not picking JVR, who was doing exactly what hes doing now at 18,

is looking like a fiora/pavlich howler.

and I think its ok to celebrate our draft wins, and regret our losses,

concurrently

I think there are two ways on PRE of looking at howlers.
We can celebrate the joy of Gibbo and regret JVR and then sit back and count our balta-baker-bolton-blessings.

Or we can ignore that most clubs didnt pick em either, that our club has a plan and is building an overall list.
We can ignore all the realityshtt that balances it out and post CLARKE IS A DUD BURN IT DOWN a couple of times

Maybe if JVR was on our list he would have played one game and been injured the rest of the time and we wish we had brown?

Speaking for myself there'd be no regrets. There are no guarantees in the draft, but picking the type of player we desperately need would have been enough for mine.

For example, In hindsight Coleman-Jones was a bit of a dud pickup and damn Oscar Allen wouldve been handy instead (imagine Allen and balta in our side now?), but we went for the type we needed you win some and lose some so not going to bag the clubs decision to take CJ over Allen. If we had of gone for another small fwd or flanker then different story

JVR v Browne is looming as a Buddy v Tambling or Pavlich v Fiona monumental level F*** Up by Clarke
Whoever is in charge next year must make changes to our conditioning staff and seriously consider replacing Clarke.

We have to give the new coach the best chance of success and the current set up doesn’t appear to be doing that.

More Neitz but that's no disrespect, just a quick hypothetical, Allen vs Van Rooyen, who do you take at this particular juncture?
I think I take Van Rooyen, more upside. Four years younger and hasn’t missed a year of footy through injury.

And with the Neitz component he could swing to the backline if required. Having said that Allen is about to kick 50 in a rotten side. I still think I take JVR beca of the missed year but it’s close.

Or just artificially inflate our own blokes to makes us feel good and smarter than the rest.
