Round 1 (2022) - other games

Jee its hard to watch Fly and Leppa in those colours celebrating a Pies win.
Come on man
They drove past Punt Rd don't make it out they are like Michael Roach and Kevin Bartlett.
They wouldn't give a flying ... about us.
Just ask what Brendan lade thinks of us.

Collingwood shamelesly tried to copy the RFC and failed under Figgy.

So they go and pinch Dimmas two key Assistants and implement real Richmond Footy set up.

Instantly different.

The defensive sert up was Richmond especially early.

Maybe Leppa and Fly had more input into the success of the RFC than many realise.
Spot on. Which is why its worrying that Dimma may be out of his depth without the Intel around him.

No doubt but they had a major role in helping us win those 3 flags so still dont like it

My eyes may be deceiving me but i could swear these teams are simply playing Tiger footy of the past 5 years. Which begs the question. Why are we trying to change? Standing or no standing rule. If you bring the heat like we used to and teams are doing now you will win footy games. Seems like Dimma has been spooked and is now trying to reinvent the wheel which wont end well. The Tiger teams of 17 and 19 would smash anyone regardless of rhw standing rule. We just need to reinvigorate the list rather than the style. Chaos footy still works as long as you have the players desire to work hard

Are you going to pay a goal instead of a point because it is obvious the player was trying to kick one?

Decisions aren't based on what you tried to do, they are based on what you did. He kicked the ball, it went pretty firmly and directly to the line and there was no team mate close to it. If that's not paid then the whole rule would be defunct, which I know some people advocate.
Ha ha. It did not sir. The players eyes were down the ground and into the corridor. But we'll put that aside as a doff to your argument that intent is irrelevant, (which I disagree with for the record).

It, in fact, went firmly and directly away from the line, before bouncing in the opposite direction in a banana trajectory Shannon Motlop-style, because he had unintentionally mis-kicked it that way.

If its not paid the whole rule is defunct? Seriously? It should not have been paid. And the rule would have continued on regardless.

That is a horrendous take.

There was another Saints player running parallel. Why would he kick it deliberately OOB if he kicked the ball forward to their goal end? Unfortunately, the ball trickled diagonally towards the boundary instead of staying in play. My POV is umpires in situations like this think too quick. Just take some time to concentrate properly and make a proper decision. Time isn't against umpires.
