R u serious?
Your not going bring up white and Shultz are you?

Nahas might not have been the most gifted player going around but he had a crack up until last year when it was obvious the coach gave up on him.

Seems like a bit of a gun, hopefully we take a look at him. Whats his contract status? it would be nice if we can poach him under this new free agent thingy.

Others players i would like to see Hartley target: Schulz as we need a goalkicking FF, and that speedy White fella looks pretty promising.

Is that ruckman from Sydney a Victorian? Could lure him back to Melbourne

Heard that Nahaaas has been going around saying that the players at RFC dont train hard enough and that North training is very intense.
Maybe its true that you play as you train ?

So was that why Nahas looked like he wanted to be somewhere else for most of last year?

Like they say. If you have a good week at training you tend to play a good game on the weekend.
If we are training like fairies then no wonder we play like it on the weekend.

It's amazing that people wanted him gone two years ago, and no one was saying "but we have to keep him". Now, it looks like we sold out Jesus.

He still has the same deficiencies as when we cut him. He did put in the odd good game for us too. Let's see him perform in his second year at the club. Anyone can feel the fire in their belly when they've just been delisted. Let's see if he's doing this well next year.

You reckon?

people can talk about culture, leadership, mental ability, confidence blah blah blah, but what you do on the training track, the repetitive drills that are designed to ingrain an effective game plan where every individual in the collective unit knows their part under intense pressure, that it becomes second nature where they don't have to think about it, is what makes a successful team. The other aspects that I mentioned above then start to come about when you start winning from a well executed effective game plan. Questions have to be asked about (a) our game plan and (b) our training methods to execute this. You can have the best game plan but if it's not rehearsed to the point where everyone knows their part without hesitating on the field, then it's useless. Our players hesitate at every instance on the field which can mean they don't believe in the game plan or they do not understand it and it's not second nature to them. Or both.

One year he had over 400 touches and kicked 30 goals with 90 odd tackles - he's nowhere near career best form.

I'm sure he will be pumped up as one of the "recruits of the season" though if North keep winning.

In saying that he's still the best small forward we've had since Nathan Brown.

Dont think anyone is saying that we should have kept Nahaaas when he clearly didnt want to play for us
Its just that hearing a player say that they (players) train harder at North compared to us is an indictment on our training sessions and coaches

Looking at his form over his career, he only plays every second year, then gets comfortable and has a down year. Was expected that he'd play well this year after sulking his way through the 2013 season

How do you figure that?

It is concerning that a number of players who leave Richmond and go elsewhere say that they train harder at their new home. Why don't we? Back in the glory days we were the hardest training side in the comp and it paid dividends on the field.

I was thinking that Carn. Robbie certainly isn't the first to mention it.

There's the stories abut Matt White and his shifting position in Port's fittest/fastest queue, whatever the real position or criteria are, it's clear that he was among the top at Tigerland, but not at Port and even Angus Graham had a crack at our training as opposed to Adelaide when he got there. It's something else the mythical review needs to include.

One thing I wonder all or most of our coaches have been at other clubs, they know how hard to train, why wouldn't we be training as hard as other clubs?

I don't know Ian, but it's something that ex players keep saying when they arrive elsewhere. Maybe I don't pay enough attention to other players who leave their club and go elsewhere, but does anyone from other clubs say the same thing about the original home? Is it just something they say? Or is there really something to it?

It was all the same with Wallace. In 2005, when he took over, they trained hard and we did well for the season until Browny broke his leg, but then from 2007 onwards, as the coach and players got to know each other better and closer, we became a holiday resort to just sit back and relax. Just about every pre-season training looked as easy as under 11s training. Players and coaches chatting away and having a few laughs, the light jogs around the oval, a few simple kicks at goal to see who's most accurate......a bloody circus in fact.
