Richmond 2017 AFL Premiers

What. .... we have to wait 4 more years.....?:vomit:))
Maybe. But then we could get to go back to back n really *smile* with peoples heads. Imagine winning four flags each on the 50th anniversary of four previous flags. Reckon I could hang around for that without too much complaining.

Hmm, but then what - we win 2030 and go 37 years without again? No thanks.

I think we're a much more realistic club now thankfully. I reckon the Richmond of the 1970s got left in the 1970s while the game changed. I don't think that's the case now.

New thread? Here's hoping. Also, I need a new water bottle, T Shirt, set of DVDs (might go for the whole season not just the finals this time) etc.

Works for me as long as we also win 2020, 2021, 2022

Haaaarrrgh. I might make 2030 so happy to pick up another flag by then too. Not a chance in hell I'll be around long enough for another 37 years of misery, so happy to contemplate the recurrence of our glory years from 67 through to 80.

On page four of this thread, there is a link to a JPG of the infamous "Flog Now Formality" article from before the 2017 Grand Final.
It's now a broken link.
This article has always fascinated me and I wanted to find a complete copy without signing up to the H/S.
I managed to find it and for the interest of the PRE faithful, I re-post it here.

Amazing to think it was even written before the Crows' opponent was known.

Rucci is mad Port. I always suspected he was doing his bit to help Adelaide lose.

We've got two centenaries coming up, ya know. :gotiges:gotiges:gotiges

Interesting...not one word of unfair home final issues mentioned until after our demolition of them.

Only two years on and crows further away than ever and the coach is gone. Rucci and Richmond really did a number on them.

So we’ve psychologically smashed crows, possibly cats and who knows with giants.

Yay us!

Collingwood are thus far the only club to celebrate the centenary of a premiership with another one (1910-2010).
Although they did "celebrate" back-to-back 1902-03 with losing Grand Finals in 2002-03, which is appropriate for them you would think.

If we were to win it next year, imagine the speculation about how close we went to four in a row.

I watched the 2017 replay this weekend.

1. We are a better side today.
2. Rioli is still not a one touch footballer.
3. Our rebound today is so flowing in contrast but you can see the beginnings of it are there.
4. Our pressure is still outstanding.
5. Glad we have two marking forwards.
6. KMac's decision making is still questionable.

Haven't seen this one before...

Just switched on and missed that - but Danny Frawley was on and hamming it up in a Bounce segment. Very poignant.

On a different Foxtel note: There's a live US College Football game at lunchtime with the Utah Utes where Ben Lennon is the punter (as well as the bloke who holds the ball for the place kicker). Think I'll record it and zap thru it later.
