Good to see Luke Teal is playing.

Door has been opened somewhat for him now with George snatching it and Narkle skulking off to the Shitthouse at Tullamarine.

Some incentive now for the VFL boys, and dare I say the WAFL boys :))
Teal, Closey and hopefully May all fighting for the mid season draft.

Sad to hear about Ross , The kid had a good preseason and was looking like he was going to take a step up
hope he is not bad and comes back quick

Nice to see Young given a run
Medial Ligament strain is not ideal but Ross will be back in a few weeks and has completed a full pre season so it shouldnt hinder him too much.

Ross hurting his knee probably helped Steely Green to get a game tomorrow, as I'd guess that Ross wouldve likely been in the line up.

Sorry about the Tarrant injury but I always preferred Young. And Clarke too will be a beauty with Picketts injury providing the perfect opportunity to give him a run against a weakened Carlton midfield.

Our team v Carlton looks like seeing a few missing including Gibcus, Graham, Pickett, Ross and Tarrant. Whether they can make their way in later remains to be seen with a fit Pickett, the only certainty.

So very close to our best 22 available.

Had both Young and Clarke in my side. And Miller too.
Miller among other skills, has a beautiful leap but no point advertising that or tiring him out before round 1.

Soldo the right selection for tomorrows game.

v Carlton
B Grimes Balta Young*
HB Baker Vlastuin Rioli D,
C McIntosh Cotchin Clarke
HF Cumberland Bolton Rioli M Jr,
F Riewoldt Martin Lynch
R Nankervis Hopper* Taranto*
I/C Broad Miller Prestia Short
Sub Sonsie.
Em Ralphsmith and Ryan.
* 1st game at RFC

Huh prefer Young, he's never played a senior game. Anyways, Taz could be ready come RD 1. Pickett will face the blues. Ross I'm hearing is touch and go for RD 1.
He has enough fitness and conditioning to not hamper him if cleared to play.

RICHMOND key defender Robbie Tarrant is racing to be fit for the season-opener against Carlton after he was ruled out of Saturday night's practice match against Melbourne due to a hip complaint.

Marlion Pickett will again miss due to an adductor problem, but is expected to play in a VFL practice match next week as he looks to be cleared to face the Blues in round one.

Jack Graham, toe
"Jack has been training with the group for a couple of weeks and is close to playing some game time. A decision will be made later this week as to when that is."

Late night.
Thought I had deleted this in favour of something that now appears in '2023 training' site.
Sticking to my views on both Clarke and Young.
Pickett may be selected if close but would be happy to see an early opportunity given to Clarke who showed enough last year and so far this, to suggest he has the talent and drive needed at the top level. Fast and with immaculate disposal, he would benefit greatly from having Hopper, Prestia, Taranto and Cotchin playing in our new midfield.
Tarrant at 34 is nearing the end while Young is the future. His progression last year in the vfl was impressive. He is no kid and he can run, kick and mark, skills which have sometimes failed Tarrant since he joined us, (at a point when he was well past his best).
No longer a good fit to take on the likes of a Curnow and McKay.
Not his fault.

Looking forward to the hit-out today v the dees. For those unable to make it to Casey fields, the game is on Fox Footy and Kayo at 4.10pm

Here are the scores for the VFL. Well done to the boys!
