we are coming down for the game from the country 6 or 7 of us, but don't want to pay extra on top of our memberships for a ticket (costly enough already).
Walk up general admission is available I understand, how much space is left? in the event of say 85,000 there will they let people into members areas or is that a thing of the past,
surely not a lockout?

If you're standing then simply scan your membership card and go to standing areas....
If you prefer to sit then the upgrade (level 4) is only $7 plus ticketek fee of $2.60 i believe still under $10....
Their is not much in the AFL reserve and the AFL were selling 2 bays to general public on ticketek but only back rows left in AFL reserve....
MCC reserve area could on the night open up 2 bays to sell that they have done previously 'bays 34-36'...
Q1-Q2 are GA areas but if demand keeps going they could start selling in their too....
Just went on ticketek surprising that single seats available on level 2A and M16 wing there are seats too, i tried for 6 in a row wouldn't allow then i tried 3 tickets and their were 3 to buy then i tried level 4 and noticed seats selling in Q1 row Z as this was mentioned as GA and i guess it still will be well the seats that remain unsold....
Personally would upgrade for the under $10 seat just to know u are 100% guaranteed to get in, if you get their by 3pm when the gates open thats fine just listen to the announcements and walk to the GA areas (first instance go to Q1-Q2 level 4 punt road end) but if you're arriving like 5 or 6pm then thats a little risky and u could not get a GA seat then i would say def upgrade to a seat...
Check link below to what i just mentioned above....

RFC_Official said:Great post AT, just as an update, Ticketek have already started selling some parts of Q1-Q2 for general admin. So seating in those areas for Richmond GA members will be limited even further.
AstuteTiger said:Thanx RFC_O just dont want my fellow tiger supporters missing out....
I will say that Q1-Q2 are no longer for GA as on the MCC website those bays have now been removed obviously been put up for sale and taken up, well i tried on ticketek and only bays available to buy were in the Ponsford stand, Q31 and Q32...
General admission areas (below) as per MCC website, (these bays im pretty sure wont be sold and simply left for GA on the night, well i hope so).
Ponsford Stand
Q35 (Rows AA-MM)
Q36
RFC_Official said:Correct - these are the confirmed GA bays (well, bay and a 1/2). If you're a GA member looking to scan in and get a seat, I highly recommend getting there as close to gates opening at 3pm as possible.
rensman said:Thanks again @astutetiger
Ended up buying 9 tickets in a row bb sothern stand q4 sneaky! Just an hour ago. Not fair for those who bought earlier and have to sit with the druggies in the p ponsford
AstuteTiger said:So Q36 is the whole bay? meaning Row's A to Z and back rows AA to MM etc
RFC_Official said:Just looking at it now, and looks like it's all GA with people already in the front couple of rows.
