Retire / Trade / Delist

I'd rookie Jed Anderson. He's a chance to end up a very handy depth onballer.

Mitch Crowden talk is getting louder. We need mature bodies for the VFL.

Id look at Jed Anderson and Mitch Wallis. Especially Wallis. Bloke can play mid and forward. Can never have enough midfield grunt and he would be great support in that role for the next 2 years

I reckon Crowden would be an excellent cheap pick up. Great left foot user, small but big bodied and knows where the goals are. Bit of Ollie Wines about him.

No way to Anderson and Wallis.

We have enough 28/29 year olds on our list already. Wallis doesn't suit our style anyway and our midfield is too strong for Anderson.

Much prefer to back Clarke and Blair in to use late picks on unexposed State League players with years left and upside.

We've gone away from it the past two drafts, but they have done it before and picked the eyes out of state leagues to get premiership stars like Bakes, Broady, Pickett, Lablett etc.

Much prefer that path.

Agree, we are ok for mids with Taranto and Hopper and have Graham, Sonsie who may not be best 22.

If we are looking at 28/29 year olds, it has to be a KPF to plug a hole there if needed

Totally agree and as I have posted earlier would be against the way we have been thinking as a club over the last few years. I just can't see us going for a recycled 28 year old.

Reckon Cotch will go forward with bursts through the middle, was ok forward this year which hasnt always been the case.

No to Anderson, butcher of the footy, been in the system for long enough now, and only ever really reached the level of ok

The biggest concern is that Tarrant, Riewoldt, Cotchin and possibly Grimes are all at, or near, the end of their careers. We may end up using the mid season draft to replace one of them next year.

I would look at a like for like replacement for each of them now. It will probably unbalance our list slightly because we will go into the season with too many talls but it seemed prudent to start blooding their replacements ASAP.

Jack, Cotch and Grimes are all generational players and will not be easy to replace. We will need several irons in the fire to do it successfully.

Good luck finding like for like with those 3 with picks 140 and 175.

Grimes was a PSD pick himself. Early draft picks alone are not the only solution.

It is better to try to replace your aging stars by taking multiple players and developing them. There are enough Premiership players on our list that were taken with late picks.

All I am suggesting is that we need to take a pair of key defenders, a key forward and two midfielders to round out our list. We will have too many talls in the short term but this will provide cover.
