RD 8 - Changes V Cats

Our record is not great when we come up against the team we beat in the Grand Final the previous year.

2017 - We beat Adelaide and then lose to them in 2018
2019 - We beat GWS and then lose to them in 2020

I hear that a lot but not sure why they say GF rematch when the match V Adelaide was played at AO and GWS in Sydney.
When we played the crows again in 2018 at the G, (the real GF rematch ;) we smacked them.

Anyway, I cant wait for tomorrow night, GO TIGES!!!

Aarts worked hard. Had 42 pressure points, 5 tackles. Rioli had 32 and 2. George had 22 and 1.

I'm sure when Hardwick talks about them performing their role, high importance is placed on the above.
It might also signify what the opposition coaches are directing.
Avoid sending the pill outta defence near 3 time premiership players Rioli and Castagna. Go thru Aarts' man and run away from him

I don't know why anyone would think this will be easy. This is the team which was leading us at half time in the last Grand Final. They're a bloody good team, if they are allowed to play the way they want to we will be in trouble.

If we're on our game I reckon we will win, but don't have to be far off to lose.

Agreed

Pfft, a lot of nervous nellies. The Cats will be with us for a quarter, maybe a half if we are "off" and then we'll pull away for a 6+ goal win. Harry Taylor missing from last year is significant. Cameron will elbow someone "accidentally" toward the end of the second quarter giving us more reason to fire, Higgins will limp off 5 minutes into the third, Selwood will dislocate his should appealing for a free kick and Stanley will be Nanked not to be seen in the last quarter for the second week in row. The Cats will be slower than treacle at the start and even slower by the ed.

Keep an eye out for accidental elbows The cats are a very clumsy team
Yep, especially with the addition of Cameron, the king of 'clumsy' on top of sniper Hawkins. I just want to see fair umpiring which is a long shot i know.

Absolutely.

looking at the Cats changes I'm now convinced Salty is one dimensional and struggles to coach. First time the old boy recruits with large egos play together! big deal. therein lies a fundamental difference between the 2 clubs. Geelong are ego driven and kinda desperate, we aren't.
we'll need to watch them a bit tonight, their 'clumsiness' and sook tactics, but i think we've got 'em ..
we're already in their heads, and they are nowhere near ours ...

1. Geelong are ancient and slow
2. They were bog ordinary last week.
3. they've been staring into the abyss for a few years now, tonight could well be the night they get pushed.
4. Richmond are the greatest side of all time at the height of their power
5. Dusty is back.
6. its on the MCG
7. Zach Guthrie is playing
8. L. Dalhaus is playing
9. Tom Lynch is in red hot form
10. its the vibe

Bit too much cockiness across the boards for my liking but yeah, you are right. Their changes are to our favour I reckon. We'll be going bad if Zach Guthrie (emerg last week) has any influence.

At the risk of copping another hiding, I had a quick chat to the Champ today.

Seems like he is well rested, has his body in a good place and is raring to go.

Reckon I detected the faint hint of a nostril flaring to the scent of a big game.
I love it when you talk football.
Umpiring not so much

Wow. They were made to watch the GF at training out on the ground over Summer.

I dropped an email to get some clarifications on this video. Here's the response:

It was in the station promo package for Round 8 so was produced outside our 360 team

The image isn't real which is quite confusing

The Geelong players were looking at their training schedule on the screen

The Richmond celebrations have been added in editing

So yeah, it's not real.
