Matty Clarke departs.

Currently

Gibcus looks set to make it so long as stays injury free.

Still a fair degree of uncertainty with all the others.

Matt might prove to be a good list manager but I think there is enough evidence now that he is not a good judge of junior talent. Just too many of his picks haven't come on.

His hit rate in drafting young talent is pretty good. Not one recruiting manager gets them all and don’t forget we have had very few high picks in recent years.

Who do you think will turn into A graders outside of Gibcus in his picks since 2018 ?

A few weeks ago many had Brown written off.

I have a small degree of confidence that at some stage this year everyone will be trying to squeeze into the Banks vault like they are jumping on the Brown train.

Brown has shown AFL traits from his first game. Tracking beautifully. Superhunk!

The worst bit, Adeladie were convinced we would take Solgio with one of our picks. We were definitely interested.

We rated Banks ahead of Soligo in our ratings. After talking Brown, we decided we needed another outside type and ignored the mid. We watched Sonsie enough to draft him, we had a clear line of sight on Soligo. They are best mates. It's another case of Richmond ignoring pure mids. It goes on and on.

And don't say "DiD YoU RaTe HiM? If NoT ShUT uP!" I'm a rank amateur with a keyboard, I'm not watching games as my job.

Been thinking about this more, it’s the same as when we watched Jake Batchelor all year and passed on Luke Parker.

Hopefully Toce brings more mids.

So that's 2 of the 5 out with ACLs.

We are *smile* cursed.
Speaking of cursed, its looking like Freo are gonna finish top 6 or so when everyone expected them to be around the bottom 4. Great.

If you think about it, we've been badly cursed and ripped off in so many respects since 2021. It's been a bad 4 years.

Hopefully Toce is a better judge than Clarke. He watched RCD and Rowbottom in the same team all year and picked the wrong player. At least he went a mid that time I suppose and not a flanker or small forward.

It’s weird that it’s been like this for so long. If nothing else, it’s generally easier to get a midfielder to successfully play another position than it is to get a back or half forward to successfully move into the midfield.
