Reckon he will be largely ineffective if he does scoop. Reeks of desperation and probably a good outcome for us if he does play.
Don't think you can judge it on one year alone. We had a go at trading for the #1 pick we also had discussions with Cerra which didn't work out.
Need to see what happens over the next couple of trade years. We can pick up a free agent mid or two and Bobs your uncle

The balance they've had to strike was short vs long term gain. I really wanted a midfielder. But if the picks come through we won't be falling off a cliff in a few years. I was shocked we took Gibcus with our first pick but I guess you can't argue with best available over need in those early picks. However if we were told start of last year Gibcus and Sonsie would be our first two picks I think you'd have said get off the crack.
In short I wanted a quality mid. We all did. But I don't think Cerra is worth what Carlton paid. So I'm VERY happy with how our chips have fallen. Time will tell I guess how Cerra performs vs the longer play of our kids. No doubt we have the better upside.

I hope we are into Zak Butters. He's going to play midfield this year, he's a ripper and is contracted till 2022.
One more would be amazing and cap off the era perfectly and the careers of a few of our elite champions.

Umpires seemed to have given up on the new rule 'interpretations' already. Adjudication of the holding the ball rule was as farcical as ever unfortunately.
