Players retiring in 2022/23/24

Robbie Gray from Port has announced his retirement.
Leaving with something left in the tank
Thank God, he terrified me every time we played them in a close game.

Has been an absolute gun. Not gifted with any physical gifts, can't jump, not quick but as smart as they come. 3 B&F's, 4 AA's, Players association player of the year. Port Adelaide's greatest AFL player for me.

Can't wait to see his highlight reel.

Yeah, Gray was a champion, but he was cooked for me. Slowed to a walk and playing for frees. Smart decision.

He never worried me as long as Dylan Grimes was on him. Owned the poor bugger.

Tredrea for me by some margin, but yes still an absolute gun.

Terrific career from the Oakleigh boy, had he been here in a Melbourne club instead of at those Port flogs, he would of been even better.

Shane Edwards.
Legend of the RFC and AFL.
What a magnificent career he forged for himself and amazing contribution to our success.
And a wonderful, selfless and humble human.
A true Richmond man

That's a really nice post in what is a pretty ordinary thread in places.

Agree. Thought he was the best player going around at his height. Injuries cooked him over the last few years for sure.

Dan Hannebery. What a disaster that recruitment was, seems everyone saw this coming but the Saints.

Yep Gray definitely cooked. Would be starting next year as a 35yo. Has kicked 2 goals in his last 8 (3 goal assists) 12 for the season. You can't carry that sort of output. Retiring gracefully. Champion player.
