Our WB legacy

Don't forger Jarrod Harbrow. We took Kent Kingsley on Wallace's request instead of Harbrow.

Yep, If I remember correctly Harbrow impressed us at our Rookie tryout day and the recruiters wanted him....

Terry wanted Kent, the rest is history.

Let's use these as examples and learn from it and move on.

Draft picks, draft picks, draft picks!

all old hat seen coming a mile away by some.

want to get out of denial ask yourselves and look deeply into craig cameron and francis jacksons records. not pleasant reading are we doomed to keep on repeating i thinks so.

i still maintain to turn this club around of field we need a geelong style structure or hawthorn.

brian cook as a ceo has been fantastic everything he touches turns to gold club should have gone hell for leather to get this bloke and not taken no for an answer.

we should also target neil balme as football operations manager or head of the footy dept. again has a pretty good record.

while we are at it why dont we plunder stephen wells as recruiting manager seems to really know his stuff.

list manager lets just go get pelchen at what ever cost. its time we got ruthless and put in place a plan we know will take us past all other clubs.. at the same time put a recruiting manager in wa nt. sa tas. with one in nsw qeensland, and last but not least one in vic. thats 4 recruiting managers with networks all reporting back to balme wells pelchen all working as a team all on the same page as far as list requirements skillset and player type are concerned. imo its up to the footy dept to set the agendas and the coaching dept to work in with the overall plan. the onus is then not on our coaches to be the messiah but just good at what they do.

because of stuff like this i have to ask myself have we had a review which is all encompassing have we had one that sets out the mandate and process that we need to go thru have we had a realistic time frame set out for us even i really cant see it.

i dont see many changes going on especially in areas where we have been deplorable for so long. the most vital areas of our club and i dont see any real change. for the better.
ask yourselves people are cameron and jackson a the men for the job. how long can we continue with them. imo their records are shoddy a footy club sinks or swims because of the roles of these two have in their positions. if they arent the men for the job we have to move on them quickly we cant affod another beck miller situation. the review should have told us if they are the men but noone other than those it affects has seen this mythical revue of all things richmond.

When going through our previous draft picks, it becomes so blatantly obvious why we're a failure.

Surely any half decent coach/list manager/recruiter will now realise that trading draft picks for ANYONE is a major no no, and the development of the kids we do pick is PRIORITY ONE.

So this development issue is a furphy. We simply take the wrong blokes most of the time. ANd even last year we took recycleds Thomson and Hislop.

We will ever learn?

Yet he said no, we did try and threw the kitchen sink at him mate.

We did, after some thought, he said no. Our offer was sizable.

It is one thing to know who can achieve results, it's another to be able to actually get them. We have made massive attempts to get the best, March and his board have been ruthless in approaching the best of the best, but they have all after a lot of thought said no.

so we try again and again until we get them where theres a will theres a way.

here here jb dumb 03. some sense at alast from you. time the club stopped being a learning ground for chronic deficient players and drafted tthose with the minimum requirements at least for afl. sub standard is sub standard and if you are not capable of getting up to standard no amount of development will help. this is seen time and again at richmond.
theres richmond cattle theres sub standard cattle and then theres the right cattle. you cant teach players to kick properly at 18 19 we all live in hope you cant teach footy smarts you cant pick very skinny 189cm players as kpps. and on and on it goes.

the club never learns and for sure and certain the majority of supporters never learn. you only have to look at the jackson white graham pattisons etc etc etc threads. how on earth can these types be properly developed we spend all of our time teaching them basics that should have been there when they were 12.

Easier said than done.
that may be lets hope the review process turns up someone who can get the job done and attract the right people to the club. its a failing of the club and a bloody major reason why we stink i would hope at the very least the review recognises this.
