WesternTiger said:Yep. Not Melbourne. In our 30 years of misery the AFL have done nothing to give us a leg up. Actually have done the opposite. But for an irrelevant time like Melbourne they have done everything short of giving them a premiership.
Did wonders for Melbourne......
The Paul Roos myth continues to grow.
Apparently North are looking to get him in as a Senior Assistant Coach for Rhyce Shaw.
Good coach at Sydney, hard to judge, either good or bad at the rabble that is Melb, but he certainly hasnt done anything as a coach to warrant his status.Given that Dimma has 2x as many premierships under his belt than the super coach, when he calls time at Richmond he can kickback on the recliner and field offers to 'save' whomever he likes!
Never quite got all the Roos fanfare personally..... he's a Leo Barry mark away from being Ross Lyon!
Norf couldn't afford him.
Come to think of it, I doubt any club could afford him under the soft cap rules.
Especially when most of it was financed by the AFL as well as Jackson..Just reading an article on Peter Jackson who was CEO of Melbourne when he recruited Roos:
”I’m not going to say anything about the finances, he want cheap but he’s paid for himself twice over.”
I‘m sure he has paid for himself twice over.....
