On contentment

Not sure Baloo realises the darkies (least the ones leysy knows) are the one's roaring loudest & longest come game day.

Just because we (god forbid) dont tick off everything the club does doesnt mean we don't bleed for the club and want them to win any less. Thats seems a hard concept to grasp though.

BTW, cracking post Carter. :hihi

Not sure where you're coming from LD. The topic is that we shouldn't rub the Darkies noses in it when their dud calls are being shown to be way off base. Nothing to do with either group passion.

Your new fatherhood seems to effecting your comprehension skills, but sleep deprivation will do that to anyone.

Yes sleep deprivation is an issue. ;D

But just the same, not sure how you can rub someone's nose in something when they're already as delighted as the nose rubbee. :headscratch

Rosy, we all come here for the same reasons. To be refreshed and to refresh. Oh, and sometimes to gloat or snivel. But they're related ideas.

Carter's posts are refreshing, even the whingey ones because he is extravagant with his ideas. And he explores the poetry of the moment, albeit in a blasphemous way. (I love that.) He's not just pushing the boundaries of niceness he's pushing his own limits of understanding and expression.

Have a look at Jake King on the park. Or Action. These blokes are in a dirty mood but they contribute, probably because of it. Anger lifts them. They push their own boundaries.

My late uncle used to say "Nil carborundum". Don't let the bastards grind you down. I say - enjoy them.

When I posted that thread about "Smell the terror" I could smell it myself. 2013 is a year for confidence for us. Not blind faith. The writing is on the wall. If we don't mature in August of 2013 we will destroy the frauds of 2014. But we will probably mature this year.

Action Jackson, is quietly rewriting history by his example. The only bloke I can compare him to is that spud Kevin Sheedy, a dud back pocket player who cost us the 1972 premiership by his *smile* disposal. He kicked three straight playing centre the next (victorious) year. (But he didn't win the Norm Smith, punters.) Daniel Jackson takes the park relaxed in 2013 because he can see it coming.

I agree.... and enjoy it I will despite Carter requesting otherwise. There is a welcome silence from some in regard to certain club personal lately. No harm in some, including those who have been harassed and lectured due to their support, pointing that out. :hihi

you can't have a comeback unless you were beaten down in some way

we can't love the underdog unless we know that their triumph is least likely

who here can deny the unlikely poetry of a falling jackson banana from the pocket is made sweeter because it is unexpected

we are now long derided, oft dismissed, beaten curs who are nevertheless, rising
and victory will taste oh so much more satisfying for our patience
