Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Chol has gone past him.
He needs a full pre-season to try to get his body right so he can run out games. Weight?
Can be anything. Its up to him

If Balta turns out to be a faster, longer-kicking, more aggressive version of Adelaide's Tom Lynch, I'll be very happy.

yeah. we might as well through in better looking , more consistent and more durable while we're at it?

As a ruck roving type with licence to play all over he'd be a very big point of difference against oppositions.

Once the lad starts reading the play and the ball better and starts clunking marks around the ground he will be a serious weapon.

The forgotten man or yesterday’s news?
It appears it’s key position defender or bust for Noah. I was pumping for this early days but was impressed by his flexibility when they moved him around early this year.
With the promotion of Chol, don’t think the club sees him as that 2nd ruck/forward.
I know many want him as an onballer or wing however he may never have the tank for that. I heard he played some time in the ruck again the other day so not sure what to make of this. He’s a confusing type and think the club aren’t 100% sure either. They’re calling him a work in progress in the latest VFL report. Whatever that means

Probably looking at Garth and Miller and realised their aint much there for us going forward so Noah has to go back and learn some defensive craft.

He gets lost playing defencea bit so he will likerly just stay in KPD post for the rest of the year in the VFL.

That said the club still needs to bring in another tall key defender for the future anyway.

Ideally 197cm+ to handle the new breed of 200 cm Key Forwards that is upon us.

Miller is 198 or so isn't he?

Very very quick too.

The Balta Bus has broken down.
He needs a massive preseason otherwise next year could be his last.

Still reckon he will be great. Was doing some pretty good things for us earlier in the year despite being thrown around.

Disagree Zipps
Don't reckon Balta is a bust at all.
Just needs to be harnessed correctly and allowed to develop.
Has much talent and the potential to be a very good player for the Tigers.
Reckon he's more a onballer/ruckrover type than a defender, but wherever he finds his groove he will be a very good player for years to come.

Has Noah been playing more as an intercept or lockdown defender in the VFL?
This is highly unlikely given the importance of the next three H&A matches but I would have liked to have seen him play on Darling or Kennedy had we played them earlier in the year, given the fact the current side doesn't have a strong mobile tall matchup for that particular forward duo.

I think Balta's move back was more about increasing his ability there to give us an extra option should any of our talls miss come finals.
I still think he is in the mix for that 2nd ruck/3 tall fwd spot come finals, if Chol continues to struggle.

Not on your Nelly. They'd take him apart. Defending isn't his natural instinct and he still has so much to learn if that's where he's going to play.

That defensive winger spot Caddy and KMac are training for is more likely his go, getting back to help the defence, providing a target for the kick out of defence, then racing out along the wing and kicking looooong to Jack and Tom.
