Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

So, for those of us not there, can we get some idea of what he spoke about re future KFs and anything else interesting?

young balta appears to be rance mark 2, when rancy was 18-19,similar traits, similar feelings towards footy importance and looks like a similar attack towards the ball, just needs time to develop atb the highest levels.

Yet he's training with the forwards.

And by having him currently training with the forwards, they are following the same development path as Rancey. Play him out of position for 4 years until he doesn't know if he's Authur or Martha and then when everyone is about to give up on him, send him to full back and uncover possibly the best defender of all time.
I like it!!

Balta is a Foward imo, Has all the characteristic's and traits a good foward has , Needs to learn leading patterns and game plan (as well as Jack's tricks) But can see him becoming a 50-60 goal fwd

Correctomundo, played all his junior career as a forward/ruck, the RFC struck it lucky because Balta was on a steep learning at the carnival, same in the All-Stars game. Had he put in one top match top 10 was beckoning.

Balta was the kid i wanted most for Richmond to take in the draft and at one stage he looked like he would go top 10 and some even had him top 5 just 2-3 months prior to the draft.

But dont know what it is Bullus but there is also something about CCJ that i really like and some of his movements are very T.Lynch like, Would love to see a comparison of CCJ & Lynch athletic traits if you know where it might be found

One trait Lynch has that is not necessarily an athletic one is that he takes the ball at the highest point like N Reiwolt. Very important for a leading forward. Not sure if our boy does that but he seems to have bucket like hands like S. Lowe. Pretty handy also

Better put him in a helmet then.

CCJ didn't test due to a knee injury but from various reports his leap & endurance are only in the average category. One of the reasons I placed him in the 3rd round - rookie basket was his kicking action, he kicks it like a ruckman & not a forward. At this stage if we are to develop him as a forward the ball drop will require some serious attention. Call me old fashioned but I still put kicking technique very close to the most important quality when assessing the juniors. Balta has a lovely kicking technique by comparison.

He's a good grab, standout feature all things considered. Plays a bit like Big Boy McEvoy, that would be my template.

Just looking at Knightmare's assessment of Noah pre draft and if his assessment is close the sky is the limit. (Jack Higgins is also right up there)

Link wasn't working so I posted another one.

It is interesting to note that in the Prospectus re: Balta's stats show in 1 comp he played as a back, the other as a fwd. His #'s were much better when playing as a fwd. They also have him in the top 30 Draftees from last yrs Draft (27th). Higgins of course is in there as well @ #1!

Showing good signs in AFLX, not being critical of Moore, but i'd have Balta ahead of him already.

Wowee looks like we have another gem. Doesn't lack confidence, big big big tick !

Can run, mark, kick and do ground level work

The biggest thing that excited me about him was the review about him dominating forward defensive drills with intensity.

Can mark and kick too.
