Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

People look at Balta and think KPF / KPD

Just play him on the wing as a taller wingman, There is no rule to say the wingman must be below 190cm

He plays the 2017 Grigg role imo and our foward line remains

H: Butler - Riewoldt - Rioli
F: Caddy - Lynch - Castagna / Baker / Higgins

Good point. We're already going to be playing an extra tall forward on last year. My only concern is Grigg was really playing a pseudo-ruck role, not as a genuine backup ruckman. Grigg has an enormous tank and some under-estimate that. Not sure if Balta has the same cardio ability at his age to play wing and be a genuine competing ruckman. Would be a tough ask and probably asking too much.

Reminds me of David Neitz. Has a similar spring in his step. Powerful flexible tall with a huge leap. Neitz played forward back and ruck.

did not think I would live to see another tall that has Richos athletic gifts.

Balta has his pace and his leap, lets hope he develops his endurance

And nerves of steel, heaps of ticker and super smart.

Way to early for us to pension grigga off. (Think i might have accidentally yesterday?)

Theres no reason its balta or grigga.

Balta releive rucks, and grigga is just relieved

And goes back to being a regular rotating mid with a new perspective on stoppages.

But yeah, Notorious appears to have done the coaches a huge favour and solved the 2nd ruck quandry for them.

I like the idea of him running a wing too.

A settled centreline of

Balta Cotchin Rioli

Has alot of appeal.

When nanks goes forward, balta goes into ruck and jr siddles up to the wing.

With nanks tank and durability, this only has to happen 20mins a game, which is time enough for 3-4 surgical i50's for JR.

Great shout, I said Darcy Moore. If he ends up 75% of Neitz he is an absolute gun.

Yesterday we had three first gamers, all teenagers, 187, 190 and 194cm. All built like men. All mobile. That's a trend.

Norwich Rising Star but he isnt better then Terry Keays

Or Arron James, or Cleve Hughes or Wayne Hernaman or David Honneybun or Pat Steinfort ... :p all the next big thing at Richmond.

Highlight of the day. People saying that grundy will monster him need to realise that grundys strength is his mobility and his all ground work. Nank can't go with him but balta will be able to. Even with lynch playing I would play Balta 2nd ruck.

As long as he doesn't have extended ruck stints again the opposition number 1 it would be fine. Don't forget Grundy has 4 inches, 10kg and 110 games experience on this kid. Nic Nat the same.

He has to play Rd 1 though given how much flexibility he adds to the side. He could play wing but also go forward at any stage.

I would love a forward line with Lynch/Jack & Balta in at at some stages. Jack would have licence to roam where he pleased.

We now have the flexibility up forward to go very tall or very short at a moment's notice, unsettling opposition defensive structures. The 6-6-6 rule makes this even harder to counteract if the tall-to-short or short-to-tall switch occurs just seconds before a centre bounce. All we need is two distinct styles we can alternate between to take advantage of this, one being the 'midget-chaos' thing and the other being the 'long-to-Lynch' thing.

The way the new rules seem to target everything "Richmond", maybe you should have said "There is no rule YET"!

Wow very impressive performance. Just imagine him floating forward when Lynch & Jack have the main tall defenders. Was competitive at centre bounces (well better than Grigg) & great athleticism around the ground. Plenty of upside here

Poor Noah has a bit of the Mcbeans about him.
Hope he tears it up though.
If the Beanie had ever presented what the Balt shot yesterday he'd still be on the list instead of roaming around somewhere. Balta already tore Smelbourne a couple of shiny new ones yesterday.

Reminds me of Adam Hunter from the eagles his versitility.
We need at least 2-3 utilities who can genuinely play the swingman role. Very luck injuries haven't cruelled us the past two years. Natanui goes down for the Eagles and it doesn't make a jot of difference. In our best 30, we need 10 stars and 20 role players.
