Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Should be banned from kicking it less than 35m. Otherwise he's playing brilliantly

Tom Stewart the filthy sniper will still get the nod, but Balta has to be in discussions for the AA squad.

He's been immense all year

I’ll never work out how a player can mark so well in the backline like Balta does but play forward and can’t catch a cold
He’s not the only one who has been like that.
Strange
The forward experiment didn’t work but it was worth a go imo. He is now in the top 5 key defenders in the game

It's a lot different when the opponent is trying to spoil rather than a marking contest

Yeh, as a backman you are both trying to mark it. A lot easier to intercept in that case. That being said he is a very good contested mark.

Maybe. I just think he likes the straight ahead nature of the game as a back and he got his confidence back which he lost as a forward.
We should also remember that he has played some really good footy on ball as well. Just never really as a forward.

Think he’s a great back player, but for what ever reason he just doesn’t seem to gel with the rest of the back line.

I agree on paper the backline looks set for 5 or more years. Now could someone send an email through reminding them of the forward line.

The RFC defence is not the issue its the middle and forward thirds.
Forward line.

Struggling. No real system.

But, we certainly get looks through sheer numbers running forward.

Got to get more ‘bang’ for ‘buck’.

Also a genuine forward ( small ) or two wouldn’t go astray.

Balta was terrific but I don't think we should underestimate the job Tylar Young is doing as well.
Like Astbury before him, locking his key opponent away is allowing Balta to focus on beating his opponent & play the intercept role as required.

Young is unsung.

Balta is a man mountain seeing the team play live this year - he was the dominant big defender today and should be in the coaches votes.

Agree on the comments on Tyler - the fact Tyler is playing so well I think is the reason Balta has taken his game to new heights.

He should make the AA squad at minimum.
