Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

He’s the full back for the next 8 years. Just coach him better to get errors out of his game. Default disposal for him always has to be a long kick - unable to go short.
How many short kicks or handballs seem to turn into goals for the opposition?
He didn't last week, he did against Collingwood.
Unless he gets that out of his game 6 of those yrs will be at another club.
That Heeney intercept was inexcusable. He players left and in front.
Just not good enough

It was a horrendous mistake but this is exactly Rutten’s job as defensive coach to work with Balta to fix it.

Rance was putrid in his first 50 games too. That ended up ok as it will with Balta. Challenge Noah to improve and I’m sure he will.

I am buying this night blind theory. Mmmm. I thought Balta was hilariously off last night after I'd run out of tears.

When he calms down a bit he's ready to level up. But he'd have to drop in his match losing by 99% first.

The 1st quarter, he was extremely bad. Thought he improved but I don`t think he`s getting much support from the others. Grimes, for example, 9 disposals 6 turnovers. Balta at least had 10 intercepts, 9 contested possessions and 3 contested marks. Needs to clean-up his decision making but geez was he the only 1 in that backline? They were deplorable.

Agree. Not perfect, but a lot better than the likes of Grimes and Vlastuin who look like they have fallen off a cliff.

10 coaches votes a few weeks ago - then that rubbish last night. He reminds me so much of a young Rance it’s not funny. The brain fades are almost identical to the great man early in his career. Only 60 games in.

Noah Balta is an example of everything wrong with football recruitment in this era. Scouts for the TAC sides look predominantly at the height and athleticism of 16 year olds and then say you can teach them the rest. Not always you can.

Balta was a match loser last night. I don't think it's chronic but it was what it was.

Classic Balta , some bloody brilliant with some horrendous brain fades , I think the graphs on the way up , more games the better he gets .

Have noticed that Grimes and Tigga have left him one out to mark in contests rather than be 3rd man up and smashing the contest … interesting

I'd put him forward for now, if only to provide the marking option down the line we so desperately lack with the absence of Lynch.

Ball in front and can run forwards at it -
Pretty damn good.

Ball up high - landing on head - clueless.

Awareness an opposition player is nearby - dubious. Needs to learn how to read an opponents intent to intercept Hopefully he can learn this somehow.

All players have brain fades, my issue is that his brain fades are all about a lack of awareness, an inability to read play and an inability to react quickly. He just seems to lack the ability to change what he is doing in a split second to suit the circumstances, this is essential in most sports, Australian Rule Football is such a fast game it is compulsory.
