It's looking good so far isn't it. Toumpas the standout disappointment, hasn't been great but he's got time. Then there's still Josh Simpson at Freo who I reckon will be a special player, and Brodie Grundy will be a very good ruckman. Garner's got heaps of potential too. Could be a ripper draft.

Toumpas won't develop while Neeld is his coach.

Yep, and Menzel will be a special player if his body holds up. I reckon every club bar Melbourne will be licking their lips in anticipation, and I still rate Toumpas as a player, just think he copped the wrong end of the stick by being called out by the Dees.

Flossy will be a rock in our midfield and people will wonder he came from.

A bit like his doppelgängers on Easter Island.

Spot on. It was all ticker. We know Davey has none and Tigga has it in spades. Perfect example of why ticker gets you further than flash.

And he signed a 1 year extension of his initial contract, before he had the disappointing reality check of actually playing a game for this club . Smart work by the d's to lock him in until 2015.

Vlastuin = the future is now The way this kid goes about it, is easily the highlight of the year for me so far.

Absolutely.

Like most very good players, he plays well down back, in the forward half and in the mids. No matter where he is played, we won't have posters claiming that Dimma is ruining him by playing him in the wrong position. You can just tell that he would give his all, and play well in any position.

I know people like to say players are their own players but I see a bit of Jimmy Bartel in him.

Fred Flosstone looks a proper player. very well rounded. who said he had no pace? who said he had no tank? was amazed with the gut running he showed. ran hard to present an option and then ran even harder to present another one. wanted the ball, wanted to get involved, wanted to take charge. great mark, great hands below knees, soft clean hands, strong handball, great kick (keeps em low and hard - the anti-grigg), composed and lowers the eye. had to re-watch the replay and virtually everything he did was proper. was a bit meh based on the initial highlights package but am now more wow.

Tried his heart out tonight and didn't shirk a contest unlike many others.
About the only positive out of the Bombers game for us.
He is really going to be a star for us

for sure, I had him in our best 3.

He fluffed a couple of kicks, but overall he was very good.

Love the way he plays, he's a tough kid.

Had a slow start and I thought okay maybe coming back to earth which would be acceptable but he worked his way into it nicely. A genuine footballer and will be a genuine gun.

Has great poise. Never looks rushed. Sign of a quality footballer. I still have high hopes if Conca/Ellis/Vlaustin all come on as midfielders.

Another teeny weeny positive is small glimpses of the old Foley last in the game with some run and some typical Foley inside play.

Nathan seems to have lost a lot of upper body size and muscle and as such his dynamism. With confidence in his Achilles increasing, an increase work load and match time hopefully old Nathan returns sooner rather than later.
