4 months ago on this date my world changed forever.
I've been given approval to go
tomorrow, Tuesday
What I've learnt the last 4 months is there is no other country, or hospital in the world I would want to be in for the injuries I received with than being in Epworth Hospital, Richmond
From the doctors, nurses, cleaning staff, kitchen staff at this hospital, I will never forget how they made me feel alive again. They took me gardening, 7-Eleven a couple of times, took me outside in the sun a few times for a chat and enjoy the sun, played Uno a few times with my Occ Therapist and meeting Koby the Therapy Dog and wanting a dog again
I was never a whinger about paying car insurance, Health insurance, Workcover, medical costs, Medicare, etc.
And they've all come through me, this country has a lot of positive things about it, unfortunately the wingers against Australia don't understand
It has made my hospital stay easier to deal with - car insurance was paid, getting paid for being away from work by Workcover, all my tablets have been paid for by Medicare, until now...
Gunna cost a bit when I get home
All I know is seeing the old people in the rehab gym, I can't imagine at 65-75 years old learning how to walk again, I'd need double the time it to me to do it in that age group. Lucky they have one of the best systems in the world to take care of their medical expenses in here and get paid for their time away from work.
I can't thank U all enough for supporting me
Exactly 4 months today is a nice way to finish this chapter in my life.
And start a new chapter tomorrow - Tuesday - on my recovery from
Thank U all,
Eric Ricemagic
