NFL & NCAA Football Threads

How are we all

Yep it's a little time for me to be on here, I do miss the NFL page

Anyway, if Mopsy hasn't told you I was turning onto a main road Taylors Rd from Keilor Downs Shopping Centre Friday, 23 June around 10am and someone coming down Taylors Rd didn't stop at the red light they had on the main road so the cars turning on the main road safely on their journeys :(

They smashed into I'm told the right side of my car, all the metal getting pushed into the driver's seat has done a bit of damage to my right hip / pelvis area unfortunately.

Then I went off road and smashed through a brick fence where the paramedics found me and took me to Royal Melb hospital.

Two weeks Intensive Care there the family and friends a bit worried, I've seen some photo's of myself comatose, pretty daunting to look at.

After IC, they stopped my sedation as I was getting better. But I don't remember nothing in my world or the whole world from Friday, 23 June until 24 July when I started recognising family, nurses and doctors.

I have at least transferred from RM and I'm in Richmond - Epworth Hospital aye. :gotiges

And I have rehab gym twice a day, OT therapists gets me outside on a good day, speech therapy daily and massive support from the doctors and nurses working here

Had Operations on my neck (screws and a bolt in there now), two op's on the right hip (screws and bolts there now as well), countless blood giving needles and I suffered a bit of memory loss from the head thrown around in the accident. Not my history or RFC / 49ers history, but the first 4-6 weeks I'd stumble over words I've seen and used thousands of times.

Words like encyclopaedia, quite (cwit), it's amazing how powerful the brain is man.

Well I'm fighting as much as I can, still need them to pass me to use my right leg totally, only allowed to put 50% of weight on it.

But I have at least started crutches and walking around the gym with them the last week, so I am planning to work out of here with them or without them in the next month or so aye :giggle:

It's been 3.5 months so far, apologies for not being part of the comp this season as I need to look after some other things first, but I will try to get on here a bit during the season and have some laughs with you all - Cowboys going to win the Super Bowl man 😁🤣

P. S. Rice Jnr - Brendan is going okay at USC aye, 5 catches, 81 yards, 2 TD's versus Colorado. 5 TD's in 5 games 😉

Jeebus, that’s a hell of an experience to go through RM.

Have a quick recovery 👍

Ricey, I was wondering where you were especially now in off-season. Terrible to hear this and what else do you expect from brainless pricks on the roads. I confront them everyday. Great to hear you're recovering.

Geez mate. You’ve been through the wringer. Hopefully the worst is behind you and your rehab will be successful.
No doubt still pain and suffering to go through but I’m sure you’re progressing and family and friends will help keep your spirits up
All the best for you going forward

Ffs….head still spinning from reading that.

Gut wrenching stuff. I’ve felt sick about this for weeks, which is nothing compared to what our mate Rice is going through.

Wrestled with sharing this horrible news with you all, but ultimately decided to respect his privacy. I‘m glad he is now at a stage in his recovery where he can post on here.

Such a quality poster, but to me an even better bloke. He reached out to me last year privately during our tipping comp checking on my welfare. For no other reason other than I posted updated scores would be later than usual due to unforeseen circumstances.

I really appreciated the gesture. To me showed what a great lad he is. As yet we haven’t met face to face, but once he has recovered I will be sure we are sitting together at a Tigers game sharing a beer and talking all things Tigers and NFL.

Top fella is Jerry, wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

All the best @Ricemagic That is a horrific accident and hope you can make a full recovery.

Distracted driving as bad as drink driving.

Had someone rear end me not stopping at a red many years ago but luckily way lower speed than what you copped but messed my neck up a bit.

Best wishes man.

Nicely done Jags.

Watched some of the 2nd half on Toy Story Funday Football. Weird but can see what they are trying to do there.

Points galore in Buffalo.

Neither defense looks capable of making a stop at this stage.

Lose badly to my Texans then come out and win. Although there were some picks and a return for an TD which isn’t something that tends to repeat. Any given Sunday.

Texans are going better than most predicted.

Might finally be trending in the right direction

Sorry to hear of your terrible misfortune Riceman; that sounds horrible. Good to hear from you though and all the very best for your recovery.

Good luck mate.
