1980-81 from memory.

Adam and the Ants quintessential early 80s.

The UK music scene was huge in the early 80s such a broad net from one end of the music spectrum to the other.

The shadow of the Beatles was still cast by Lennon and McCartney in their individual projects.

The Who was finishing up.

Bowie, Pink Floyd, Queen, Genesis, and the angst of punk in the Sex Pistols and of course The Clash and then U2 were the heavy hitters of the early 80s.

Glam pop was coming into play with the likes of Duran Duran, Wham, New Order, Depeche Mode and Spandau Ballet, then there was the UK Metal in Iron Maiden, Judas priest, Motorhead, Def Leppard, Slade and the weirdness of Madness and of course there was Elton John.

As with television in the early 80s was the last bastion of the UK culture really impacting on Australia as US culture was about to take its place..
