I made this point on a thread on the Journo's board but felt it needed a broader viewing and discussion. When Scott was announced as NM coach I submitted a comment to the HS in regard Sheahan's article where he definitely announced NM were about to offer the coaching role to DH. As events have since unfolded this was never going to happen as DH never got to a short list with them.

My comment was reasonable merely suggesting that he go back and give his source a hard time and if he was the source i.e. he made it up, then he was a disgrace as a journalist. The comment was never printed and in going back to check a few times, I noticed a disturbing trend - of his 15 most recent articles, only 1 had any published comments and that was the one where he had a go at Demetriou. Given the HS claims to have a readership well in excess of 1 million, this is almost Stalinist like censorship or the HS Moderator must be his mother! What a joke.

I guess that depends on whether you consider having a right of reply on the media providers website to be your right, or whether it's a privilege they control.

Herald Sun has over 1.5 million daily readers. Biggest readership newspaper in the country.

Buy The Age mate!
The Age circulation is actually going down at every readership research conducted. The Age as a newspaper is in decline. People say they read it, thinking they will sound more intellectual, but in reality Victorians dont purchase The Age.

Im Victorian and I do every now and then. I especially like the huge Sukudo puzzle on the weekend.

Maybe there's a technical issue or Mike is too busy or something. It might be an idea to e-mail him with any concerns. I doubt it's censorship when there are no comments published at all. I'd be more concerned if there were comments in the blog but they were only the positive ones.

Of course a tabloid has a greater readership. Same reason Dan Brown sells more books than Peter Carey or Tim Winton.

The more you dumb something down the greater your potential readership!

Send it to media watch!

"Technical Issue or Mike is too busy or something", yeah the HUN are running around trying find out if Sheahan has a brain inside his head.

Right now given the massive stuff up regarding the sacking of Wallace by the HUN, then Sheahan telling all and sundry that Hardwick was going to the Roo's, he's got nothing but egg over his face with regard to what is happening at Richmond and the football world in general.

HUN won't do anything about it, but PRE people can, when MS goes on the radio then call him up and give him a blast there for all to here, bet that MS will go off for a "coffee" or somesuch to escape answering for his *smile* stories, the guy is a complete TOSSER.

what i can never understand is how such a weedy twerp who sounds like hes about to cry all the time can gain such prominence in the media. fair dinkum this bloke not only comes acroos wrong he is usually wrong. he has no idea. personally cant stand him would like to fair dinkum just punch the living bejeezus out of him. suffice to say i dont read what he writes and turn of the telly when they are stupid enough to put him on.

The days of The Age pretending to be an intellectual read are long gone. Just check its website, full of of Dating Ads and crap. At least the Herald Sun is upfront about what it is.

I read the Herald Sun and I'm not ashamed to say it, and I cope sh!t for it from my snooty friends (who are to tight to actually buy a paper, may be this is the reason The Age readership is in decline) ;D

You're soo smart Lamb.

I watched Tim Winton's brother Brian play footy and the other bloke was an umpire, didn't know they had turned to writing books
